Having the same audio crackling issues. Even small projects with 4 - 5 midi tracks. Have to switch audio engine off/on to make crackling stop.

I'm getting crazy crackling with 8.2.1 too.

If I stop the track I'm working on, click on the CPU meter and shut off the audio engine, and then click again to turn it right back on the crackling goes away.

Unfortunately now I have to do this every other time I click play to start playback.

Decided to do a remix of G&Ds TTD, even though it is too late to enter the contest. I'm going to do final mixing and mastering in a week, so your comments are most welcome.
