Looking for Indie Drums VST
Hi, I've been using Stylus and love the plugin. However, I'm looking to expand a bit. Here are some references for the type of drum sound I'd like. Does anyone know a good VST that would make these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15pMHi9h8rI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y66j_BUCBMY Thanks!! Mich...

Re: Seeking an Alternative to Waves Vocal Rider Plugin
I believe it's something on Vocal Rider's end. I'm not really sure. I know it's compatible with Pro Tools, but not Ableton. I checked out the link - thank you! It actually mentions that it's made for Pro Tools though. Do you know that it works for Ableton? Also - Vocal Rider still functions on Ablet...

Seeking an Alternative to Waves Vocal Rider Plugin
Hello! As the title suggests, I'm looking for an alternative to the Waves Vocal Rider plugin. It automatically adjusts the vocal volume fader in relation to the music, and apparently works very nicely. Unfortunately, the side-chaining feature of the Vocal Rider isn't supported by Ableton's side-chai...

Re: Finding a Laptop / Push Stand For Using On Stage
Thanks for your reply! So where do you put the laptop that the Push plugs into? A different laptop stand?

Finding a Laptop / Push Stand For Using On Stage
Hi all, I recently bought a Push, and I'd like to use it while my band performs live! I'll be sitting down and playing a Roland RD-700GX keyboard, and I would like to have a stand next to me which holds my laptop and the Ableton Push. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with different on-st...

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
Is it possible to have a 25-key MIDI controller running into Ableton, and the Push at the same time?
For live performance, I want to play Omnisphere on the 25-key MIDI controller, but allow our drummer to manipulate the macros with the Ableton Push.
Thank you!!
Michael

MIDI Controller Live Performance Wireless?
Hello! I'm looking into playing a MIDI controller in a live performance situation with Ableton as the host program... but would like to keep the computer off-stage. (I'd be using Omnisphere TR to wirelessly control the Omnisphere VST on an iPad). The only problem is- we'd have to run a really long M...

Live Performance Synthesizer Keyboard
Hello! I play piano / keyboard in a Pop Rock band. We're now adding a second keyboard, and we'd like to use something that can somewhat recreate the high-quality Omnisphere (pad, organ, bells) sounds that we used on our album. Could either do this by tweaking the built-in synthesizer controls, or by...

Looping Live
Hey guys! I'm trying to figure out how to set up looping on my midi controller so that I can loop parts in a live setting... and sort of stack the arrangements on top of each other over time. So-- i'd play 4 bars on my midi controller--- then at the end of the 4 bars, press a button and have it loop...

Re: How To Make Realistic Hi-Hat Sounds in Drum Rack?
Thanks for the reply. Using Suite 8. I have tons of hi-hats samples. I have the closed / open hi hat sounds that will mimic the "real drums" feel of the song... it's just a matter of being able to account for the natural variation between the tightness of the hi-hat. I was envisioning a ma...

How To Make Realistic Hi-Hat Sounds in Drum Rack?
Hey all, I've started experimenting with the Drum Rack to recreate a live drum kit sound, but haven't had the best luck with sampling hi-hats. They sound too fake-- even when I mess with the velocities, I haven't been able to get them to where I'd like them to be. I've been learning to use the Drum ...

Exporting Master Track Messes Up Panning in iTunes
I'm trying to export my band's backtrack from Live 8 into iTunes. On Ableton, I have 2 tracks set up: one for metronome, and one for our backtracks. I have metronome panned all the way to the right, and backtracks all the way to the left. It works great in Ableton when I test it. However, when I exp...

Bass Sound using Operator- Fireflies by Owl City
Hey everyone! I'm a newbie working on Ableton- I've been recreating the song Fireflies by Owl City to become familiar with creating sounds. I've been trying to figure out the bass sound that he uses in the verses. It sounds pretty simple, but I'm having a hard time recreating it. It sounds similar t...

Electric Guitar sound in Ableton
Hey guys, I'm sort of a newbie to Ableton and DAWs in general, and to help me get familiar with the skills and techniques I can use in my own songs, I figured it would be useful to take songs that have already been made (similiar to my genre) and recreate them to the best of my ability. Right now I'...

Live Performance set-up (omnisphere/reason)
Hey guys! I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to working with Ableton and midi controllers. I'm looking to figure out the most effective way to use Ableton Live in a live performance situation. I play in a pop/rock band, so I'm mostly wanting to use it for effects- but we do also have some back-tracks...
