Re: rolling back to 8.1.3 or 8.1.4 - where i can download them ?

Since I can't use 8.2 (doesn't work with my audio interface's input, known issue) and since I was incredibly stupid and threw away 8.1.5 before I noticed the input issue in 8.2, I've asked the support for a download link for 8.1.5. Twice. No reply. Thanks for nothing. I've found that the download li...

Re: Audio Interface with REALLY short latency?

Yes, I'm not really upset with Ableton, because I was aware that their numbers were probably just guessings. Why do you recon that? Live gives me the exact same numbers as Logic and Presonus Studio One (in Presonus' low latency mode or whatever it's called), the only other DAW's I've checked recent...

Re: Apogee One input not working in 8.2

It's almost a month since I first mailed them about this (it started with the 8.1.6 betas) and I actually suggested that the issue could be caused by the One being a single input device. I told them it worked with other hosts, bla bla. They told me the problem was Amplitube 3 and Novation's Automap....

Re: 500GB Laptop drive shoot out!

Here's the link: http://mymacfixes.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-do-i-stop-clicking-noise-from-hard.html Wow, that's scary!!! My drive doesn't click but it had the same excess load cycle count as others have reported - a rate that would shorten the drive's life to about a year! I've applied the fix in t...

Re: 500GB Laptop drive shoot out!

I bought a new drive just the other day and was really into the Seagate XT, but there's loads of horror stories about random spin down issues (it might spin down even if it's under heavy use, halting everything) and very poor performance after just a few days of use. Most of these stories seem to be...

Re: A few questions about bit depth

funny, I'm just waking up. sorry for being so flip, you DO bring up a valid point. the number I put up was a post Henke made when 64 bit summing came out just after Live went to 64 bit summing. it made a difference but the difference was pretty small. distortion can be measured in dB when you use T...

Re: A few questions about bit depth

Lots of bits and floating point math isn't just about headroom and noise floor, it's also about avoiding rounding and truncation errors (aka quantization errors) as much as possible, until the point where they can no longer be avoided - that is, to the point where you mix down to lesser bit depths....
