I don't know, this is weird and I've never heard about such issue before. I'll try to sync it to an external source to see if I get the same problem.
Did you ask the ableton support about this?

Beatseeker makes use of Push 2nd footswitch input, that's why you can't record clips.
In other words, when you have an instance of Beatseeker in a set, the default footswitch behaviour is bypassed and is used to control Beatseeker.

Live 9 and 9.1 will work, but 9.2 dropped compatibility for SL. It might work but without any guarantee.
But imho you'd better keep SL which is a really good os. Live runs much better on it than on Lion or ML.
