Re: using numbers on a midi keyboard to select patches in a vst?
when i try to map parameters using the numbers, they show up as pitch bends (PB1, PB2, PB3, etc). they register as a signal in the mapping mode but then when i actually type in numbers afterward, nothing happens, only the pitch wheel ends up affecting the mapped parameters. anyone know why?

using numbers on a midi keyboard to select patches in a vst?
so i'm using an 80's yamaha keyboard as one of my midi controllers. when i type in a number on the keyboard (used to select an instrument or rhythm), it sends a midi signal out and changes the preset/patch in some of the vst's i'm using. this is really convenient so i'd like to figure out why it aff...

Re: changing the pitch wheel bend amount on a midi controller?
there's another problem that i forgot to mention. the controller i use to play keys is a yamaha keyboard (not specifically a midi controller). after mapping, i monitored the 0.00-1.00 parameter and the pitch wheel only bends 0.50-0.54 going up and 0.50-0.46 going down, which is weird because even on...

changing the pitch wheel bend amount on a midi controller?
is there a way to adjust the midi settings from the computer on how much pitch bending occurs from a pitch wheel on a midi controller? for example, a full bend on my midi controller changes the midi signal pitch by 1 whole tone, but i would like to make it change pitch by 6 whole tones. is there a w...

Re: assigning individual channels in sampler?
In Sampler you can pull up the Zone editor and single out a single sample. After that you can apply the effects on it. how do you single out a sample? you can't drag plugins into the zone editor and have them only work for one of the samples iow; you'd need multiple Samplers here; each primed with ...

Re: assigning individual channels in sampler?
You can always pull in a Sampler into a drumppad then use that. While you're right about using effects behind an instrument placed in a drumpad also don't forget that drumracks even natively support the usage of sends and returns. So if you want the same kind of effect to be shared by different dru...

assigning individual channels in sampler?
i have a lot of drum kits in .nki format but live seems to only be able to import them into sampler. the problem is, i can't figure out how to assign plugins (reverb, delay, etc) to the individual drum sounds played in sampler. in drum racks, you can assign plugins to each individual drum pad, but t...

latching and syncing drum samples to a BPM in drum racks
say i have a hi-hat sample loaded into drum racks. when i trigger the sample, i want it to repeat (similar to when "loop" is selected) but not based on the duration of the sample but rather every 1/8, 1/4, or 1/2 note based on the BPM that live is currently set at. battery has this feature...

drum rack question - setting the sustain duration
i'm using drum pads to control the drum rack in live and i want to be able to set when the note-off trigger occurs and the release comes in for each sample...so basically, i want to set how long the sustain goes on before going into the release. i'm trying to trigger the samples without having to ho...

drum rack question: triggering drum loops
ok, so let's say i have some drum loop samples loaded into the pads. i'll set the release as high as it'll go for all the loops so i don't have to hold down a button to keep a sample playing (i'm using drum pads as a midi controller). i'm trying to make it so that when the first sample is playing, i...

i'm using live 6 on pc and the mic is a samson co1u the thing is, when i record using the mic in other programs (sound forge, cool edit), i don't get any kind of latency, so it's not an issue with the mic settings i thought it might have something to do with how everything in live processes on-the-s...

microphone latency
i'm getting a bit of latency when i record with my USB mic...is there a way to reduce this latency? if not, is there at least a way to make it so the recorded files automatically adjust themselves by a certain milisecond afterwards (latency compensation)?
