Re: record samples from multiple tracks onto one track
Instead, use the 'audio to' box below it, and route the audio from each individual track to one audio bus. Or you can select 'resample' on the bus input and record while playing only the tracks you wish to combine.

Re: Mapping Launchpad to EQ3
Hold down the first button, then press the second and it will assign the effect over that given range. Keep in mind that in LP user 2 mode, the buttons go in sequence from left to right (not top to bottom), so you'll have to map it horizontally.

Re: Effectrix 1.3 MIDI mapping issue in Live 8.1 (Mac)
Not exactly the same, but I had issues with Live/Effectrix not remembering midi mappings assigned to farmpad on my padkontrol. The assignments were still there when I opened up MIDI map mode in Live, but they were not responsive. I would have to go re-map everything, and it would only work until I r...

I've been using both for some time. I've never had this problem. Can you describe exactly what problem you're running into?

The little circle in the top left corner of the plugin will disable/bypass it. Both of those plugins probably have a bypass switch too.

Ah that could be cool. It could also be one potentially terrible radio station. No offense to anyone

Re: Standalone VST host for Mac?
Maybe you should check out Renoise? Its probably more than you need, but for the price, it might be worth it. Its not free, but its only like $79. Tons of features, light on CPU.

Re: Looking for the "key" of a drum
Certain drum hits will be easier to determine the pitch of by ear, but that won't always be the case, and it kinda depends on if you have good ear for that sort of thing. If know what key your track is in, isolate just a single note and compare that to your drum hit. Determine whether you want to pi...

Re: How to trance gate audio or midi? tremelo? in Ableton Live
If your sidechain source is a hihat sample, load it into a drumrack or impulse and put an arpeggiator on the track. Then you could adjust the arpeggiators rate. You may have to nudge the timing of the hits a little bit.

Re: Midi Mapping to act like the arrow keys to browse clips ?
if you're on a mac, you can use a program called midistroke to map keyboard functions (like up/down arrows) to a midi controller. i'm sure there is a pc equivalent out there too.
