Re: Clap Effects
didn't click the link, but experiment with delay, reverb, gated reverb, flanger....layer 2 claps together, but reverse one of them. you'll probably find something you like that you will have created yourself.

Re: Controller Advice: Novation MKII 25 SL vs. APC40
THanks guys - I really just want to switch between devices and tracks like you can with the APC 40. I would also like to control VST's with a controller - The Automap thing is confusing as hell, although i've just spent a long time watching Novation tutorials online and have a learned a few things, ...

Controller Advice: Novation MKII 25 SL vs. APC40
looking for some advice here. I own the MKII - I've had it for a couple years now. When I got it I was just starting on Ableton. The other day a buddy and I had a session at his place with his APC40. I REALLY loved how you could control everything on there, switching tracks, switching to different d...

Re: A month set for 9-5 writing/creating- what would you do?
good thread. i would also recommend putting limitations on your tools (instrument racks, effect racks, drums, etc). I recently did that and i'm getting more stuff done. I'm still watching a lot of tutorials to help with workflow, and to just learn how to do shit. Too many plug ins is trouble for fin...

Re: Live Bass processing
If you get that Sansamp, run it direct to your interface and then load a cab sim on the track. That should be all you need, except maybe some cleanup EQ and/or a compressor in the mixing stage. Don't load a full amp sim, just the cabinet, the sansamp acts at the amp head. I record my bass straight ...

Re: Live Bass processing
thanks y'all.....did a little research and found the SansAmp Bass Driver DI has been recommended by many. I went on my local craigslist and did a search, and lo and behold someone listed one for sale on the same day for $100. Having that along with Guitar Rig will be sufficient for me I think. It al...

Re: Sidechaining to layered kicks
When you have multiple kick drums in a drum rack with other instruments, there's no way to do this. If this is really what you want to do, then I would duplicate your drum rack and use one drum rack for only your kicks, and then use the other for your other drums. You probably want to add some comp...

Sidechaining to layered kicks
I've got a beat I made in my custom "Pete Rock" drum rack, which has 5-6 cells with 128 samplers in them. Kicks, snares, hi hats, etc. I'll use 2 or 3 cells of the same Kick Sampler Rack so that I can select different kick samples, and layer up several of them on each other. Edit according...

Re: Purpose of 320kbps for analog DJing?
there is no reason anyone should ever ever DJ with anything other than 320 or Lossless. If I go see you DJ at a club, and you are blasting 192 mp3's down my ear, you shouldn't be behind the decks. Period.
