M O N O M A C H I N E

Glad to have sparked such a lengthy discussion of the machinedrum. Maybe it is worth it to upgrade to the UW.

So, I have never even touched a MONOMACHINE. What's the deal? Is it worth every penny also?

Live Sound Quality - Is it Pro?

I have been a Live user since version 2. I think it's great for knocking out some quick demos and I always use it for my shows. However, when it comes to serious production, something just doesn't ever sound right coming from Live. I always use Logic for "real" jobs. Not that it's easier t...

yeah, i guess if ya got the xtra cash the UW could be very cool. imagine putting a vocal bit or something in there. 8O for me, doing house and tech... the machinedrum is the sound of what's happening now. i love the microtonic stuff too. but the MD just sounds so tight, clean and punchy. I have owne...

M A C H I N E D R U M

I'm sorry, is it just me? Or is the Machinedrum the coolest and best sounding thing ever?

Just thought I'd express my love and admiration for the greatest thing in electronic music since the 909.

This explains how to manually replace the processor in the Mac Mini Solo to upgrade it to a Duo. Has anyone tried this?

Yes! me too! I've already posted a thread requesting more info and user experience on the 2882 +DSP. I'm running a powerbook 1.5 and could really use the extra DSP. I also would like to know how the DSP plugs sound. Are they the same as Channelstrip? Not interested in the group buy. I'm getting a de...

metric halo i/o

definitely want to get the metric halo 2882 or ULN. can't decide weather to get DSP or not. Anybody have any comments about these units with/without DSP? How are the plugs it comes with? Are they the same "sound" as channelstrip?

Get a MachineDrum instead. It's the best drum machine/groovebox ever. It sounds and acts much more pro than an electribe.

Free samples in magazines

I was wondering what people thought about all of the free samples that come with some magazines. I want to buy a few today to check em out.

I was wondering which magazines have them. I know Future Music does.... but any others?

Finding a good promoter

I've been playing locally for a while now and on a regular basis. I feel like I'm ready to take things to the next step but I'm kind of at a loss as to how to do that. I think I need to find some good promoters - basically someone to help me get to the next level. I was wondering if anyone has any s...

Hardware Sampler for live shows

I play out and tour a fair amount and am on the verge of going all hardware. I don't like travelling with or bringing my computer to shows. I do all my production in Live/Logic but I can easily replicate this on a drum machine and hardware sampler. I'm looking for just a simple sampler that I can th...

Small mixers

Looking for a small 8-10 input mixer for touring etc. The soundcraft compact series look pretty cool. Soundcraft usually have great sounding stuff. Anyone have any experience with these or any other suggestions?
