Re: need help with mic-pre amps

Getting warmth on your sound varies from pre-amp to pre-amp. Usually it's a budget problem. If you want to get some warmth low cost I would go for TL-audio. Great pre-amps that doesn't cost a bunch. I've own one myself until it got stolen :( Miss it much! Plus I'm buying a new set when I have the mo...

Ableton APC40 bag?

has anyone noticed that if Ableton made their "padded bag" a few inches bigger, you would be able to fit the APC40 in it as well? I'm looking for a "safe" way to transport my APC40 back and forth :P Shouldn't be too expensive, the ableton bag is pretty cheap! But too small to fit...

Alesis Master control anyone?

Hi guys, anyone tried the Alesis Master control? Looks like a sweet deal. I've been a pro tools LE user for a long time. I own the Mbox and a 003 console. I absolutely love Pro tools for mixing, but I've been really disappointed with the fact that PT LE is so unstable. If I'm ever gonna mix somethin...

Re: Syncing Live 7 to a Reel to Reel

Usually you get some kind of converter that talks between the tape and the DAW. usually you have to sacrifice one track on the recorder to sync it to a DAW. because it needs to record a signal to stay in sync. you can use MMC, MTC and SMPTE. You have to get your hands on some kind of converter that ...

Re: Compressor plug in recommendations

I use the vintagewarmer2 a lot from PSP. It can handle alot of audio without squashing it.
And If you have some old drum loops that needs some magic. just push the gain all the way up on this mofo. You get some wierd sounding stuff!
check it out man :D

wow, Thx for all the great input. But I do like the Cut-O-matic ;)
I'll experiment with all the other as well, to see what fits my setup the most :)

How do you make a "cutting" effect?

Hi guys, I dont have any audio available to show what I mean. But I saw a video once where this guy used a knob to insert a cutting effect on a vocal track live on stage. Basicly what it sounds like is if someone is singing "aaaaaaaaaa" and with the effect it's "a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a&qu...
