Re: DJing on the fly with ableton
You'd could probably trust me to warp a track while the intro is spinning over the house mains (not even cued), better than dropping a needle on your vinyl. Who said the traditional skill was easier? Don't forget, there are plenty of mission-critical things that a traditional dj is weighing in on at...

Re: Push Pong
Brilliant device-and plenty to play with. Why aren't more people creating devices that can be engaged/disengaged and with remote output no less? Same goes for mapping a parameter for take-over, like on an oscillator or envelope. Always appreciate the added design when it can be overridden with manua...

Re: Stutter Edit basic stutter effect issue
I'm not in front of mine, but you might add quantize, next to stutter, and maintain it at 1/8th or 1/4 notes. This gets rid of the continuous drift as it moves from stutter options. I know, you only have one stutter option, but maybe that'll do it. Also, I wonder if having the trigger/grid at 1/8 is...

Re: Bitwig , Live 10 , PDC etc ,,.,,,
Yes, that's the right of it-I've been buying the upgrade price for quite some time. As a previous max owner, the promos that Live had that first spring when they incorporated all the devices plus m4l into the suite price but not standard, they practically forced my hand. But yeah, I could see how Li...

Re: Distorted glitchy sound problem with Live 9
I happen to be getting choppy playback on anything other than ableton, i.e. system output, youtube, even if it's going through the same interface routing. I have a focusrite saffire pro 24 dsp. Like you, no other indicator of a stressed system, on a late 2012 13" MBP. I intentionally bought thi...

Re: Bitwig , Live 10 , PDC etc ,,.,,,
I may have a revisionist's version of history-I was working on a campus when I first bought into Live. But the only time I bought the standard suite at that price what when I ordered the install disks and session kits by version 4. No, I don't mean to undermine bigwig. And all your points are very v...

Re: Bitwig , Live 10 , PDC etc ,,.,,,
My stump speech on Bitwig is that they didn't find the right price point for me anyway. I'm thinking more along Renoise, or in the photo editing world pixelmator, where other developers have made modular, cleaner objects and give you a hell of a lot of value for it. Bitwig just doesn't have the cons...

Re: Limiters: how -not- to use them
I'd love to sift more through the other responses, but I'll tell you my state of affairs first: I contend with some other comments here that the limiter comes in handy on my master when I am performing live. There is no reason why the audience should have to pay for an errant feedback loop, a plug-i...

Re: Something to compete with Faderfox ft3?
Lol Thanks Tom,
You could always hide your weed in it. Be sure to stick some buck shot in there-makes for a rain stick or shaker.
You could also make a smart knob-just draw in answers like "yes" "no" "it depends" around a dial, and then ask it questions.

Something to compete with Faderfox ft3?
Hey gang, Can you think of a controller that could knock the Faderfox ft3 out of its current position for me? Not the Nocturn, not the Quneo. (although I have the Quneo and really like it) The specs: X-fader, lefty-friendly (it's nice to have it as periphery), gig worthy (not those mini controllers ...

Axon sequencer instrument into Corpus midi side-chain?
This is embarrassingly a signal-flow question. I always go back to the basics on certain topics and reteach myself all those things I periodically unlearn. Had asked about this in a somewhat hijacked thread on tips and tricks but I think it deserves its own topic: Bit of background: Axon is a sequen...

Re: MIDI and Audio into the Same Track: Is This Possible?
Pardon me in advance as this a bit of a detour, but I'm trying to understand ableton's routing and it may help with the concepts here: I have a sequencer INSTRUMENT which also sends midi out. If it's audio output is routed to a separate audio track with an instance of corpus, corpus is unable to lis...

Re: Push as performance controller
I like the full-scale APC for that x-fader. If they could have incorporated one with the mini... Listened to your soundcloud, TV, very sculptural and evolving! And now that I've done my best buttering up, might I take a look at that Clyphx script as well? The one that permits separate note repeats f...

Re: Change the parameter mapping of Lives own devices in Push!
Airyck, I think that's a terrific endeavor, considering that there may be others like me who find the community mappings and their instructions here to be far more approachable than delving into Ubermap. Will the community devices.py listed in the first entry still work for ableton 9.1.2? re:dream m...
