You'll need a separate monitor, usb keyboard/mouse. A KVM switch that uses cat5 cabling and they are pricey.
Each computer must be connected with its own cable. And there's an issue with video port compatibility.
Just use RDP/VNC over your local network.

Re: mini discs to live?
Depends on what outputs your MD device has: optical, coax, analog line. And inputs on your audio interface.
And I believe, sony, being sony, had more than one way to screw you over in the process.

What Muzik 4 Machines said. Pointing device goes on the right side, everything else on the left.Earwax69 wrote: It's fine really. My old toshiba lappy is like that and I never had problem with the mouse. You prefer no ports? Or pay extra for each cables that you can only use 1 by 1?

Re: New Macbook Pros
Last time I've used my dvd drive was to install snow leopard 3 years ago.
Optical media is dead for me.
I'll take slimmer design or larger battery any day.
And shouldn't any generic usb-dvd drive do the trick?

Re: Hating Lion and going backwards?
While some lion features are nice, I've went back to SL for the time being. Got tired of audio issues and crap apogee drivers. Which is pretty fucking hilarious for a mac only company. Lion is more resource hungry. Safari leaks memory like a motherfucker, Mail eats cpu cycles for no apparent reason....

How are the pads compared with lpd8 (in)sensitivity vise?
MINI has only two banks, not four like lpd8, right?

Go to /Your HD/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/ReWire/
Rename the original ReWire.bundle to something else.
Grab this one (version 1.8.2 that came with lion): http://ompldr.org/vZGZpNA/ReWire.bundle.zip and unzip it there.

Re: Tracking Ableton Live to another computer via firewire?
Both are macs I assume? You probably could use AUNetSend(stock apple plugin) on each track on your end.
And AUNetReceive/SoundFlower on the other, to send audio over the ethernet. But you'll need a host, that supports AU Generators on the receiving end, AFAIK Live doesn't.
