How old are we?

First we clamor for registration of users, next we have people watching over what we post...

WTF? We have to regulate ourselves. If there are people who have nothing better to do than waste my time, I'll just walk away.

But don't ask for an overseer.

hey ayanami, closing live [track] and not being to OPEN IT again... What happens when you try to open it? Does Live unexpectedly quit? If so, and if you're running OS X, there's a log file that may reveal what caused the crash. Have you ever checked out the file that may exist here: ~/Library/Logs/C...

Here's something that might help someone begin to "get" the way Arrange and Session work. - Go to the session view and load a small number of clips from one genre of music: dance, electronic, hip hop, classical, rock, instrumental. Doesn't matter what it is, but make some audio clips from ...

Thanks so much for your help!!!! Hey Anthony, I was just being honest! You'll figure it out for sure; you're definitely asking lots of good questions. I was simply suggesting that you take some of the good suggestions in this thread and try again for a few days. Don't try to create anything special...

Lets say I’m mixing tracks in session view but I wanted to then take what I have been doing and move them over to arrangement view…..how would I go about it?
Anthony,

I believe it's time you started working with the manual and Ableton's tutorial links. All your answers are there.

By default, the only thing the two views have in common is the track layout; that's it. This means that you can actually have two completely different sets of audio, one in Session view, one in Arrange view. It's like you have two completely different sequencers running on the same machine, except t...

So basically, I have two options of what to play in ableton. One is to play loops horizontally in the arragement window, or two i can play a couple of loops at the same time in the session view. its the same track that runs through the same effects. Its just that either session or arragement view c...

Logic files aren't MIDI files. You need to export the sequences as SMF before you can act on them.

stesmith, :) It's only been two hours! Your question is incredibly broad and would likely require someone to write an entire tutorial. I know I've read some useful things but I don't have any bookmarked. Does anyone out there have a good intro to DJ'ing with Live bookmarked? If so, pass it along! Re...
