How do you specify which plugin gives you the crash? Remove the plugins from your plugin folder, then copy them back, one by one, and check every single plugin within Live. In the same spot that "Post Reply" is when you're in a topic, it will say New Topic. You just have to not be in a topic when you post a new thread or topic etc.

IMO the most constant persistent reason for CPU spikes with any DAW is some third party VST plugin acting up. Recently Native Instruments have had massive reports of the latest versions of Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol spiking and crashing multiple DAWs, and they aren't the only potential guilty part...
