what i want/need is a way to be able to hit record, record a passage and then let this passage define the master tempo of my whole project, +1! This is what I do too. And Live's incapability to support this real-time performance style was the reason I had to find me another software. Here's a demo ...

I,m a proffesional video-editor. Use FCP on a mac and Avid with windows. These are the two programs which are leading in the bizniz. You can pick up light versions for cheap. Good point! Doesn't tell much about "using Live for video editing" though ;-)) Yes, I'd love to get FCP but since ...

Anyone using Live for video editing?

I knew Live is good for making music to fit video but what amazes me when looking into it is that it seems to be very creative to even cut video in Live! Is someone experienced in this field and wanting to share some findings?

Re: The Steppophonic Looperformer

I will build the world's first Steppophonic Looperformer. It is a step pattern sequencer driven real-time sampler/looper. I believe it will make a smashing team with Live 8's new Looper. I posted a detailed description of the instrument at http://www.perboysen.com/ for those who might be interested...

Thank you, Christian. I will educate my fingers to type it correctly next time. "Calf" is indeed a different animal! ;-)

Thanks. Good to know I can keep my Live projects that was rendered obsolete by Apple and finish them when Live starts supporting .calf. Apple should put red warning stickers on the Logic 8.0 upgrade boxes.

Support for CALF files planned? (much needed)

Hi,

I'd like to know if support for CALF files is planned?

When upgrading Logic to 8.0 the installer transformed all my AIFF AppleLoops into CALF and I only later found out that Live doesn't support this format.

Thanks. We have actually tried also to sync the MPC to another piece of MIDI hardware and had the same problem (although we couldn't pinpoint it)

Anyone tried to MIDI Clock sync an Akai MPC1000?

Hello, We're desperately troubleshooting this setup including an Akai MPC 1000. One error might be that the MPC is a bad listener and follower of MIDI Clock signal, but we have limited resources to experiment with that. So I'm just wondering if anyone have been doing that and care to share some expe...

Whats the point of using logic together with live? Is it because of the logic synths, or are there other advantages of logic over live? I use both together on some projects because I think Live is better for drawing pitch changes graphically for audio clips/regions and Logic generally sounds better...
