I think you can change the resolution, but you would never want to display an LCD at less than its nativeresolution, screen sctretching on LCDs is UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGLY...

Yep, only on the 17"
Basically the pixel density is about the same as the 13" macbook, but 17"

You have more pixels, that are smaller, to fit into the same space.
So yes, everythign is smaller, but you can fit alot more on screen, more tracks or more clips per track in Clip view..
