It was the plugin delay compensation, my fault
(That explains why I didn't have any fluctuations but just a bit of delay.)

So I can say: recording the MD works perfectly without any fluctuations or delay when I turn off Live's monitoring for that channel. At least for me

You are totally right. The example I uploaded proves that it‘s staying in sync perfectly as long as there is no plugin loaded. As soon as I load a plugin into a muted clip the liveinput of the MD is shifting and I can hear a delay between the recorded clip and the liveinput. That‘s so obvious a Live...

Edit: Just aborted. While recording it sounded fine. Now when playing both clips it‘s not in sync anymore. Strange, got no track delay set..

That‘s almost how I tested it. I took a simple bassdrum with short attack and recorded it. Then i played it in another track and compared that to the actual MD output. 115% on 24inch cinema display.. 100% is too small at 1900x1200....

I can sync my MD to Live via Ultralite perfectly now.. don‘t know if it‘s the new computer or Live 8. Btw thanks for fixing the bug where you had to restart Live to have changes in the sync delay take effect.

The best thing about Guru is that you can drag created patterns into Live.

the only advantage to have a real mac is that the hardware is guaranteed to work with the os that's not completely true as the latest mac pros state.. you can't use the ati cards with screens by siemens or samsung for example. the os will fuck up. the only way to get arround that is to buy a 3€ .. ...

Live is best for... Live! Huge artists use it as a sequencer because they are not obliged to follow the chart night after night.
