Re: Why so many use Live instead of Traktor to do a ... DJ set ?
as you point out...you can't scratch...but any dj that is THAT "true to form"wouldn't touch ableton let alone a computer with a10ft pole Regardless of ability to scratch. To be honest I don't think theres a market for ableton in this direction and things like the bridge allow em to tap in...

Re: speak of the devil
Aussie Hip Hop...is there a distinctive Aussie style? Apart from the accent of course. In the past I have not been a big fan of hip hop outside of wonderful artists like Lauren Hill (whatever happened to her?) and similar artists. In recent years though I have slowly warmed to hip hop produced by A...

Re: Akai MIDI controllers - APC40 or APC20?
launchpad all the way mate... you've got pots and sliders already and for cheaper you get 24 extra clip launch slots... It's a solid piece of kit, and it's simplicity is it's strength. This is probably not what you want to hear tho, so if I were to have to choose between the 2 akai models I'g go for...

Re: Blah blah you, and your 30% off!
I guess different people have different limits, also not everybody is like me ... working from home wearing only facepaint and an XXL buttplug. Some people have a boss / children / a boss who is a child. We have to make allowances for all kinds I guess. ho-hum perhaps I've spent too long in the adu...

Re: Fuck you, and your 30% off!
The Op got it right... We get live 8.... it's full of bugs and stability issues. We complain. We beta test the product, and report bugs for the next year. we lose features that were advertised (share). We get amp. New users get M4L... That's fucked up.... Well it seems fucked up to me and the Op and...

Re: Everyone else is 64 bit
The biggest question to consider is why would you need 64-bit audio? 24-bit & 32-bit audio already exceed the threshold of dynamic range humans can endure. Why go further? It's not about audio quality it's a question of access to more ram... for the huge vst's out there these days.... 64 bit co...

Re: Everyone else is 64 bit
All it's gonna take for Live to get passed by is a good alternative to session view... TBH - Ive been playing around with Maschine more lately from a performance perspective and actually Im starting to like it. Maschine's scenes are the closest thing to Lives session view, but again I find it lacki...

Re: Everyone else is 64 bit
64 bit is essential for me to be able to use Trillian, although spectrasonics do a fine job of letting me thin the samples down, it's getting really frustrating to have to keep freezing to avoid the out of memory messages... In fact all spectrasonics plugs use lots of ram, as do a few orchestral pac...

Re: Maschine and operator ?
There are a couple of ways to do this... You could use Maschine as a midi controller and map it to operator... Or you could sample the drum sounds made with operator into maschine... It's a shame operator isn't a plug in, then you could just hook it up and have the best of both worlds... Maschines l...
