Re: Can´t set up vst-plugin folder
Which plugins did you install? Some plugins have multiple locations that have to be specified during installation, e.g. one for the support files (usually c:\program files\) and one for the actual plugin (.dll) files. Are there any .dll files in your c:\vstplugins\ directory? If not you may not have...

Try a shorter USB cable. Sometime this is the issue with unrecognized devices.

Re: Can you VDJ with Ableton live?
You can use the MIDI from Live to trigger other programs like Arkaos Grand VJ, Resolume Avenue, Modul8 etc etc etc, anything that takes MIDI input.

Re: Light Peak
it's just a move against the forthcoming usb3 protocol... I don't see how, Intel created USB as well. I think it's a case of developing existing technologies versus new ones. At least USB 3.0 has some backwards compatability, which is good for general consumers who don't want to have to upgrade the...

Re: 8.09 to 8.1.3
I used to be able to make Live 8.1 crash an empty set by deleting the return tracks. As soon as the second one was deleted the whole thing crashed. This isn't happening to me anymore, thankfully. I also was able to make it crash when using MidiYoke with an Arduinome, that seems to have remedied itse...

Re: Anyone use Effectrix often in Ableton that can help me?
fuzz you can automate effectrix just like any other VST. You can right click a knob/button to "midi learn" it then record automations in arrange view or use clip envelopes in session view. Here is a very quick tutorial on using clip envelopes: http://djpixc.wordpress.com/2009/12/03/effectr...

Re: How to play and edit web .MID files with Ableton?
No, Live does not have an inbuilt MIDI synthesizer, you will need to load some instruments onto those MIDI tracks to hear anything.

alienguts your argument is shit.
FACT: the APC40 rocks.
FACT: Ableton Live (full version) rocks.
Pay for the upgrade and stop whining or go use Logic or something.

Re: MIDI Volume? Grouping?
I had the same problem with a Novation Supernova II. I use a CME Pro UF5 keyboard which has 8 sliders and a volume slider on it. I ran the midi cable into Supernova then back to my interface using the Thru port, that way the synth and the computer still get the same messages. The keyboard has 3 diff...

Re: 8.1.3 and CPU overload CALLING ALL FORUM MEMBERS!
8.1.3 has solved all my issues. I've run it for the last few days and no nastiness of any kind. I haven't had any CPU issues even with 8.1.1 running on a dual-core ASUS lappy with XP SP3. Friends of mine running Vista are still having some probs, not sure about Win7, but my experience seems to sugge...

Re: Gah' Tempo
What settings are you using to output your .wav's? - 44.1 kHz or 48kHz (or higher)?? Some media players do not like to play high sample rate files, they play back sounding like they are in slow motion (Windows definitely, not sure about Mac's), this could be the case if you're sure that the project ...
