Re: Emulating a basic blues/rock guitar riff

You've already found the "best" way. MIDI pitch bend is only per-channel, not per note, so you have to send the notes on separate channels. Thanks. I fear you may be right, as far as an Ableton solution goes. Now, in my decade-old copy of Digital Performer, I think I could split off the t...

I almost never think I sound like somebody else.

Emulating a basic blues/rock guitar riff

Okay, on a guitar it goes like this: On the B string, you fret a note. On the G string, you fret a note three frets higher. You play both strings, and you push on the G string so its note rises to match what the B string is playing. It's the second "cliche" they teach you in one brand of r...

I've thought about that. Perhaps each "ear" is fronted with cloth, and houses a big ol' fan. One acts as an intake and the other as an exhaust. Then air could be pumped through the helmet for cooling.

Re: Ableton Learning Curve

Surely you must be familiar with Racks if you've had Live for years? You mean go deeper into them I assume? There certainly is stuff there to dig into. One day I will embark on research and do an in-depth tutorial on them. The big thing is to decide on which things to adopt as a standard for my int...

Re: Ableton Learning Curve

I got Ableton Lite as a free thing when I got my Axiom 49 keyboard. I thought of it at first as a light version of something like Digital Performer, which I have a decade-old install of on my old G4 Powerbook. So, for that functionality, it took less than a week to get up to speed with Ableton Lite....

Re: Breaking Bad

(Not a spoiler.)

At the beginning of tonight's ep (9/2/12), with the close-up on the fly and then the focus changing to Walt's face, was anybody else thinking of the opening sequence for Dexter?
