Re: Ableton Live 11 On Windows 11 low framerate

I face low fps even on the empty project both in FL and in Ableton, when the timeline runs for example, you can see how it twitches, even though the same time I can open Pro-Q3 EQ fullsecreen mode and it will show stable 60 fps. I am sure the problem is not with your videocards and settings. I have ...

Do you mean that you would expect that boosting with adaptative Q would go from a tight peak at a few dBs to a wide bell when increasing the dB?
conversely.

EQ shelves. Adaptive Q

Adaptive Q creates resonance hill on the edge of a shelf curve on the EQ. Why are these edge boosts supposed to be more natural? For example, adaptive Q for boosting and ducking the bell makes it more natural by making it narrower for a reason, stronger cut is meant to cut resonances and broader wea...

Re: How should I understand the graph on the parametric EQ? (not a beginners question)

My question is, let's say, we have a 20 Hz wave and 10 kHz wave. Both have a specific x coordinate that has to be a straight line. Why do I see a broad hill when I monitor the low frequency contrary to the high frequency hill that almost looks like a straight line? When I have two frequencies, 20 a...

Re: How should I understand the graph on the parametric EQ? (not a beginners question)

. The graphic display doesn’t know in advance what you’re trying to throw at it. So it gives an interpretation to the best of its ability, in the ideally most useful way, without going overboard on cpu or making too many assumptions about how it’s supposed to display the info. Yes, I think so too. ...

Re: How should I understand the graph on the parametric EQ? (not a beginners question)

https://ethanwiner.com/EQPhase.html Hi, Tarekith, thanks for the topic, I've read this post now, but it's not about my quewstion. Maybe you know why when we play a pure sine 20 Hz we see the broad hill starting at 50 Hz on the EQ monitor instead of just showing the strict line? Look how wide the hi...

Re: How should I understand the graph on the parametric EQ? (not a beginners question)

So, if I get it right, an equaliser has to do some work to understand how fast the wave oscillates that's why having 20 Hz oscilation is approximate, because it's harder to identify ideal equal cycles within some time period to make the equaliser surely admit it's ideal 20 Hz. Adjusting a boost of ...

Re: How should I understand the graph on the parametric EQ? (not a beginners question)

You have to keep in mind "resolution" when dealing with frequencies. The lower the frequency the less information you have in it but the more power you have, it's a physics translation. That's why you can hear a thumping sub from a mile away but often hear no actual musical content. If yo...

Re: Swing quantize / groove pool

In order to make .agr work properly you have to 1) make your pattern as close as possible to the swing file you want to implement 2) choose a proper "base" parameter. As a result you will have more live and groovy swing. That's the purpose of the groove file. If you want to initially make ...

Re: Ableton folds when I close the VST window

Were you able to list the offending plugins? Sounds like this needs to be addressed by support@ableton.com Since it is very sporadic, I can't say if there are certain plugins, it just happens randomly. As I use Pro-Q 3 very often, I can say for sure that it happens from time to time with this plugi...

Do you use Multiband Compressor on the master bus and why?

The more I watch videos about MB, the more implementations and ways to use I find and these youtubers don't really tell why they do that just "hmm, now it sounds better" or "now it has a pump", or "it's more clean now", I get confused by that as I'm 100% sure for some r...

Re: Ableton folds when I close the VST window

Mmhh... I've never seen this. When you say "folds", you mean that Live window gets minimised into the Dock (I don't know if it's called the same on Windows, but hopefully you know what I mean)? yes, it disappers from the screen and appears in the bottom bar, doesn't close completely like ...

Re: Do LUFs standards really work?

I don't worry about the LUFS standards unless a client specifically asks me to do it. Just make it sound good everywhere as usual. If you're master is louder than -14LUFS, the streaming platforms will just turn it down. Rather than retype a lot of things, let me direct you to another forum I'm on t...
