Re: Round Robin in Sampler?
The original post is from 2007... but anyway, this is the way I do it with Sampler. For it to work, you must have many varieties of the sample you want to use as individual layers within the zone editor In the Select editor (SEL tab) separate each sample so they don't play over each other by right c...

Re: I keep dreaming of a... delay effect with a sensible GUI
This is about as simple as you can get... (and free)
valhalla-freq-echo
and if you want to simplify your parameters, why not just chuck whatever delay that you like the sound of, and do some creative Macro-Mapping?

Re: Layering Sounds?
Things to consider when layering sounds: Frequency response, Phase alignment, Stereo Field, Spacial depth. Each of these will have more or less importance depending on what material you are layering. eg: For Synths/Pads: think about band-passing at different frequencies, giving each layer it's own s...

Re: User mode color schemes
this may help... I do something similar with User Mode and Looper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v05QIx124Y Basically, you have to create midi clips with different Note and Velocity messages: Note= which pad lights up Velocity= which colour lights up send the output of the clips to Push User Port...

Re: "Ableton Push (Port 2)" Should I be concerned?
No concern... it just allows you to send and receive midi track messages (note/cc) and/or remote messages from the user port when enabled. There is no need to send or receive sync messages however... so you can turn that off. I generally have user mode (port 2) set up to Input Track information, and...

Re: Setting Proper Track Levels
I usually change either the clip volume of the audio file, or adjust the output level of a VSTi via a utility device first in the signal path. This will eliminate any internal clipping that could potentially happen with some VSTs. I use compression both as a tonal colouring tool and a reduction of d...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
You can if you make instrument racks from them. Make a rack with an operator in it. Make a rack with (for example) massive in it. You can save both of these into the same folder. I see. But then I make the nice folder categories ("Instruments", "Audio Effects", etc.) obsolete, b...

Re: User mode encoder goes down too fast
there are different modes for the rotaries.... I think the one you need to choose is"Relative (lin 2's Comp.)" you can see and change which mode the rotary functions in whilst midi mapping is active in the bottom left hand side of the screen. read about it here: https://www.ableton.com/en/...

Vocoder with Push
Hi all, I created a bunch of Vocoder instruments for use with Push and Live 9 ‘out of the box’. For anyone who has used the Vocoder in Live 9 before, you should know that you by default, need two channels, one Midi and one Audio, and they need to have channel routings set up in a particular fashion ...

Vocoder with Live9 & Push
For anyone who has used the Vocoder in Live 9 before, you should know that you by default, need two channels, one Midi and one Audio, and they need to have channel routings set up in a particular fashion to make them work. This doesn’t work so well when you want to load a ready to go Vocoder directl...

Re: How to control Mod Wheel with macro?
if you have max for live there are a few devices where you can transmit CC messages. like this one: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/2560/cc-map8 The Mod wheel uses CC 1, so if you use one of these MFL patches before the vst synth, with a parameter set to CC1, then create an instrument rack ...

Re: Live-looping challenge - gurus, masters, tips needed
Winterpark- Thanks for the simplified suggestion. I think this may be a very good start. Is there a way so that any clip record-launched from within a track will change the chain selector accordingly? If I could at least map the Track Launch button to a midi control that also changes the chain sele...

Re: Live-looping challenge - gurus, masters, tips needed
I think a variation of option 2 will work for you. If you have it set up that your FX that you want applied to clips is on the 'monitoring' channel, rather than the channel you want to record onto, and set the 'record' channels to receive audio from that monitor channel (post FX) then what you will...
