Collaboration anyone?

I fancy starting the new year with some collaboration and wondered if anyone was interested. I'm London based and have no objection to meeting up as well but definitely hoping to get stuff going online using Ableton plus Dropbox/Gobbler etc. The bulk of stuff that I'm currently working on is a mixtu...

Re: upgrade from Ableton's standard synths?

Out of all the plugins being discussed in this thread I believe that Alchemy currently offers the best value for money and expansion capability to the OP now that it is on sale. Massive can sound warm and very beautiful (check out the Massive Darkscore series of banks from The Unfinished) but it is ...

Re: Filterscape

Berlin based I believe and I don't remember them ever having a sale, they usually just give special pricing to people that buy the products during the beta phase. But on the flipside they are a small company and they give excellent and personal support. Why not just go ahead and download the demo if...

Re: in ear monitor headphones/earphones

If you're looking for custom in ear monitors then I can highly recommend the Jerry Harvey Audio JH13Pro model. They're very popular on Head-Fi too. Amazing levels of detail and fairly flat frequency response with a very slight bass hump. Mixes that I've done on them translate very well onto my Macki...

Re: 9 hours of free FM8 tutorials

It's great for a whole range of different stuff - pads, bass, arps, lead.

It's also very very CPU efficient.

Groove 3 have a nice tutorial set for it which includes making sounds with it as if it were just a subtractive synth.

Re: [RELEASE] Omnisphere VST Presets for Push

I've done quite a bit of conversion of the Trillian patches although not as nicely as how you've done the Omnisphere ones. I'll take a look at redoing them and uploading for everyone. The one thing that I struggle with is deciding which controllers to map in which bank. I've also done the whole impO...

Wow, that's outstandingly generous and hugely appreciated.

Re: [RELEASE] Omnisphere VST Presets for Push

Looks like Dropbox has locked the account due to heavy traffic - does anyone have any ideas for alternative hosting?

Re: Arturia Analog Laboratory slowing down CPU

I tried the demo of Analog Lab and was somewhat disappointed. As analog emulations Analog Lab uses considerably more CPU and generally sounds less interesting than either the Gforce or Korg Legacy synths.

Warning regarding upgrade to OS-X 10.8.5

Just thought I'd share this with you in the hope that it would help others avoid the same problem. I recently updated my 2013 MacBook Air to OS-X 10.8.5 from 10.8.4 and subsequently got audio glitches and stutters in all my audio production apps (all versions of Live and Logic). After some removing ...

I've also done all the synth sections from Trillian if that's of any use?

Re: Browse vst from push - video

I'm doing something similar with Omnisphere using Keyboard Maestro on the Mac. Out of curiosity, which controls did you configure in Omnisphere?

I also found it useful to split some of the folders by Library as the Atmosphere patches tend to be lighter on CPU than the Omnisphere ones.

Re: Controlling Omnisphere with Push

More than a couple of thousand between all of those VSTs but so far Live's browser seems to be holding up fine...

With the instrument racks categorised by VST then by sound type etc. it makes it easy to find the sound that you want with the VST that you want directly from Push.

Re: Controlling Omnisphere with Push

I'm part way through creating Ableton racked patches for all the Omnisphere and Trillian sounds using Keyboard Maestro on the Mac. Have also done a large chunk of the Alchemy and Predator and all of impOSCar and most of Twin2 libraries. There are quite a few YouTube tutorials on how to do it and Key...

Re: How you killed the business of music

So I guess there's a niche for a "find me genuinely new and good music that I'll probably like and probably not know about" service. Being able to do an aggregate search across all the services like iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify, Reverbnation, Bandcamp etc. for something like: music where category=ele...
