Re: How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
How do you set up the delays and reverbs to not pass the dry like that? I made something similar to your; thank you for the ideas!! So I have everyone on one track. Guitar>FX rack - which has 3 chains, Dry, Delay, Reverb (delay and reverb have a mute in front of each)>Reverb at the end of the rack> ...

Re: How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
So what I'm interest in is after the amp sims and stuff. You have a rack; "Ambience" with parallel effects? Does the Utility kill the send for ALL the effects in that rack? If so, that may be a problem as I'd like to kill the send for a delay (so the repeats trail) but still have a reverb ...

Re: How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
Josh,
Thanks for the info!
I'm a little confused when you say the Gtr Pre goes to the Master as then output on the track says "Gtr Post"
And then the Gtr Post track's output says "Group"

Re: How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
Yeah, I think I follow you. My looper rack has 6 separate chains; 1 signal through and 5 loopers and I think they're also set to Never for In/Out so they only play the recorded loops. I think, more or less, one can accomplish the same thing with chains in racks as they do with tracks in the mixer w...

Re: How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
Cool! I'll try that. The thing is that I had 4 tracks, each with a looper, that gets their audio from my guitar track, called MAIN. So Audio From for each looper track is from MAIN, and the Input/Output for each looper is set to NEVER. I need to make sure I have only one track with the delays and re...

Can you describe how you do that?chris vine wrote:I get around this by assigning one send to the looper - so gtr, vst insts, whatever get sent to looper but also the FX returns too.

How to retain FX trails without being after FX in Track
I use reverb and delay plugins and I want to be able to retain the trails of each effect after I disable the send. I had post a thread long ago and someone suggested putting there desired FX in a Effects Return and just killing the Send, thus allow the effect to continue. The problem is, I have 3 se...

Re: Latency coming and going
I downloaded and installed the most recently released (2013 I believe) universal audio driver package from Motu. There is no specific driver package for the Ultralite Firewire.
The latency hasn't jumped yet, but I still got a computer hiccup. I was running at 76 samples. CPU load isn't high.

Re: Latency coming and going
I'm not really sure I'm following 100%, but if you are looping back and using direct monitoring, you're going to hear a delay pretty much no matter what. I run at 48k/64 buffer and I have maybe a total of about 4.5 ms? I use the monitoring inside of live and don't do any monitoring from the soundca...

Latency coming and going
I've been having an issue in Live where I'll set up my laptop as needed and then there may be a hiccup that throws the latency off and I have to go readjust it. My setup is Guitar into Amplifier. And my laptop (audio interface - MOTU Ultralite FW) are in my amp's effects loop. Computer is a 2011 MBP...

Re: Installing Live - optimal performance.
Agreed about SSD. It's fast, it's efficient. I understand that some people can't afford it (and you can't just get the lowest capacity if libraries are on it) My boot/OS drive is a Samsung 830 SSD with has Live on it. I know the SSD improves it, but I wanted to know if anything else on the install ...

Installing Live - optimal performance.
I often see Live tutorials (with Mac users) where the launch time of Live is really fast.
Are there any tips when installing live - where to put the library, to increase performance? If so, any links to tutorials?
