Want to unlock all my old Amiga 8-bit samples
I've did a search on the forum and found stuff that sideways touched upon it, but didn't quite answer it... Situation is this... Back in 1987 (!) I got my Amiga 500 and started tracking with the very first tracker program. In the years that followed I made zillions of disks full of samples. All 8-bi...

The only thing I found that helps is switching to an external hardware clock (I had troubles getting my 303 to sync tightly). I had a 707 that I used only for it's sounds (gotta love those hihats) but it's now my masterclock. Any chance you can get your hands on a drum machine or borrow it, just to ...

In the beginning (*my* beginning at least) ;0 my tracks were almost serial in nature... the end did not necessarily reflect how i started. when i saw my first tracks played at a venue (over ten years ago) it was quite an eye/ear opener and then i started restricting myself. If you have enough materi...

I had problems getting my 303 to sync with Live (and a lot of other programs, though back in my Impulse Tracker days years and years ago it synced fine  ) Anyway - I now use my TR-707 as the external master. I start and stop Live using the 707 and it works rock solid now. So, couldn't your fri...

sfz vst
Just wondering, anyone else here uses the sfz vst (soundfont player)? Since 6.0.5 these won't load anymore in my sets (get an Insufficient Memory error). First I thought it wouldn't be such a big problem but I notice that I use this vst quite a lot. I'd love to see it fixed (it worked fine in 6.0.3)...

Well, they sure listened ;) 6.0.5 is out and it fixes my crashing problems! Since was in here all the time nagging about it, I should also rejoice in here when it's fixed. One new thing that's cropped up though is that while loading a medium set I get the following popup: Insufficient Memory There's...

Any info on 6.0.4?
Anyone know an ETA of version 6.0.4 (or a beta for that version) The guys at Ableton said it would fix problems with external gear, crashing on start up, etc. etc. Basically all the problems I'm having. They said beta testing would open up soon (but that was in an e-mail dated januari 11th and well,...

Very nice! I like those endless talkies. And nice blips too... funny thing is, you put it up at only 96kbps but oddly enough it doesn't make it worse  It could perhaps use a melodic thingamajig somewhere along the lines... at 6:43 it's about as much as I personally can take. But then again, it...

I really have no problems with people liking/loving/advocating their platform, but just saying how happy you are on a different platform isn't helpful. Ah well. I manage to work around it for now, but the biggest problem is Live often crashes without noticing it crashed itself (yes, that's an odd se...

Yes, I built this machine from scratch (and yes, I know what I'm doing  ) and installed a new Windows version on it, installed only what I need and all the latest drivers. It's not used for surfing or anything other than making music. It has antivirus, even though it's not really needed for th...

6.0.3 doesn't change a thing
Damn, I was all excited about this new release, but Ableton 6.0.3 exibits the exact same problems like al versions before it. Gotta rant a bit... When dualcore support is ON, Ableton crashes when loading a track. It loads all instruments, the cursor (Windows) changes to an hourglass and it immediate...

Just to be sure... on the slave pc you have clicked EXT (it lights up) in Ableton top menu bar? Even though you set it to sync in the prefs doesn't automatically make it sync, see. I use an external 707 to trigger my 303 and Ableton and I must expicitly set it to 'EXT' before it'll listen to the sta...
