Any Nina Simone fans?

I've remixed a tune of hers in Ableton called "See Line Woman" which I found on a live (performance) album. The track was mainly vocals, with percussion and chanting in the background. I've basically slapped a bass and a techno beat behind it. http://stubar.blogspot.com/2006/11/song-see-li...

Quick drum fills/variations

Hi just wondering how people are managing drum fills. I find this the most time consuming task at the end of a song to go back and sprinkle the song with variation by hand. An idea I've had is to route 2 midi tracks to my drum instrument. The second just being different fills (unlooped with and extr...

Good Book - Ableton Live 5 tips and tricks by Martin Delaney

Hi I bought this a while back and thought I would mention it here as it's really helpful. It's got a funny (ha ha) and informal approach and has loads of practical realworld advice from people who have used it on stage. Also people talk about it's limitations. There's an interesting section called &...

I've often thought i would be cool to be able to click a knob / mixing fader and then alter it's position with your scroll wheel.

Session AND arrangement view at the same time is a must have.

I'd love it if they added this. *said like Kevin Keegan*

Maybe I'm missing something, not sure. My problems when I update a clip in the session view I'd like all places it exists in the arrangement to be updated too.

This may be a requirement for the whole rewire technology rather than just Live. How about if when I launch a set I did that uses reason , it then auto loads Reason (or whatever slave) and the correct file. I've even thought about writing some kind of script in vbscript or something. I envisage asso...

Adventures In The Virtual Studio

Hi I've not long started to play around with Ableton Live 5 and thought I would blog the experience.

The music I'm doing is very varied from indie rock to electronica to DnB

Have a look, tips, advice etc welcome
