Re: FCB1010 help
If If you are on a PC, you can use a free tool called Midi Ox to see exactly what midi is coming into your computer, on Apple I don't know.

Re: Best live band + ableton combo
I don't know if it's jazz, or any good, but the top link in my sig is improvisational music using lots O' Live. I use a ton of looper, and efx on sends, and my jazzy guitarist friend just wails over it like crazy! Works wonderfully!

I've had zero luck setting up the hypersynth editor as a module in Live . . . if anyone has done so successfully I'd love to hear about it!

Re: Another Behringer MIDI Foot Controller FCB1010 Thread...
Ableton Live responds well to midi notes - perhaps they might be less troublesome for most button presses. The only place I can see cc's being useful would be the pedals, for volume or wah or whatever. On/off stuff is trouble free for me with midi notes.

Re: looper Undo/Redo bug?
I get sad when I see this stuff . . . I am happily using 6 Loopers and a ton of other stuff on an old computer, and it's all working very well for me. Maybe a different version of 8 might fix it for you? Check my sig (freakness) for a bunch of live shows where it functioned as intended (proof that i...

Re: Looper Multi-function Transport button broken
my looper plays back random buffers, even after i hit clear and record a new pass with something else. never said anyhting abou tthat in the promotion video for it. if it's a feature it's a pretty fucking bad one. Mine was doing that for the longest time, with a little snip of a James Browni...

Re: Guitar Fretboard Scale Visualisation Tool (HTML5).
I've found that I'm learning it better since I started thinking in terns of patterns along rather than across the neck. It's kind of difficult to explain but it depends on learning where the semitones fall (the ". o o ." positions in the map below. o . o o . o . o o . o . o . o o . o . o ...

Re: Using the ableton looper
Looper is working fine for me 3phase, no timing issues with a strictly on the fly live looping approach. My Lexicon JamMan is still the simplest hardware looper I've known and loved, but I am finding Live to be a great reason to leave it at home! I had to create loopback automation for a ton of shit...

Re: Using the ableton looper
Perhaps you could try using each bank of the FCB1010 to control a different looper. There are settings to quantize launch on the loopers. Or you could use the pedals on the FCB to cross-fade between the 2 loops. I use a MPD24 as a mixer etc for the 6 loopers in my template (which I use for live loop...

Re: Guitar Fretboard Scale Visualisation Tool (HTML5).
Yea, the 5 shapes idea is one of those aha moment things, somewhat hard to convey to learners, but I often start people out with that idea - it seems to be encouraging to present it as "just 5 scale shapes to learn", makes the process somewhat less intimidating. I've seen a lot of teaching...

Re: Guitar Fretboard Scale Visualisation Tool (HTML5).
Thats way nifty! I would be super psyched to see you implement custom scales, so it can help with arpeggios and note group subsets. I plan on using it to help me while I attempt to learn lap steel guitar in C6 tuning - it works great! I teach guitar occasionally, and I'll send people to your site fo...
