Re: Ableton racks, Geist, Maschine, Live 9

Geist - no brainer. I've gotten into playing the scenes in Geist. You can literally write a song in a matter of minutes (just set up a few patterns) Fxpansion should pay me for being the numero uno fanboy on the forum.ableton.com website Used to do that with Guru and it was productive and fun. Seem...

Sell your Maschine.
Heh, yea that's a given.

More than anything I'm wondering what people are doing with Geist that racks+push+live9 can't?

Ableton racks, Geist, Maschine, Live 9

Thinking of jumping on this Fxpansion sale for Geist, and picking up Live 9 and push. Does anyone see redundancy getting Geist whilst having Push with the Live 9 integration? What are the advantages of Geist over Live 9's racks with Push ? Do own Maschine, it's not getting much use lately though. It...

Re: improving sound in a VERY small room

Had hopes of using the closet as a beats bomb shelter, though I think I'll just use the bedroom/living room as a studio again. Thanks for the replies all.

Re: improving sound in a VERY small room

this might sound crazy... Nope not crazy at all, I should have pointed out this is going to be total gorilla style. There's an IKEA not far so I'll see if they have that deal. I have about 8 drapes too. Gorilla recommendations are welcome. @memes Yea, no doubt. We might even be neighbors so I'm sur...

improving sound in a VERY small room

Have a 7x7x7 room I'd like to improve the sound in. I thought about putting these behind me covering floor to ceiling. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x12x12-12-Pk-BURGUNDY-CHARCOAL-Acoustic-Wedge-Soundproofing-Studio-Foam-Tiles-/310519568706?pt=US_Acoustical_Treatments&hash=item484c689942 Also, though...

Re: audio to midi like live 9?

I guess you have tried Melodyne editor... Everything and more, less the Drum Extraction... well, you can do it with a lot extra effort.. but that's extra time.
I have when it first came out but the demo I had was buggy. Looks like it's the best option so far and I should give it another go.

Re: audio to midi like live 9?

Thanks. I've tried some out there (It has been years though) like that one, I'm looking for something bit more polished that spits out results based on an output preference "midi, chord, melody" like Live 9.

audio to midi like live 9?

Is there anything out there that will do audio to midi like Live 9's chord, drum, melody extraction?

Re: On second thought, I'm excited for Live 9.

Looks great and it might push me over the edge to ditching Maschine. However, does anyone know if there will be midi upgrades in the direction of traktor's looping and such? What about Push's color scheme, those white lights would tire my eyes out quick! Anyone know if colors can be changed or at l...

Re: Live 9 Midi Mapping

"DJs have long asked for the ability to use cue points inside clips, and to see waveform displays of more than one playing clip; neither those features is available. In fact, there really hasn’t been anything arguably geared directly at DJs in Live other than the crossfader (and, separately, cr...

"Maybe this is blasphemy to say, but I feel like [music] is not meant to be something that earning your keep depends on, because it will force you into making decisions in the interest of earning your keep, as opposed to the interest of the thing itself. And that’s a bad position to be in. It s...

Re: iPad

No really noticing any difference either, other than the newer screen inthe apps that have retina support. Looks nicer, but feels like the same amount of power and useful battery. Boots faster though. Honestly, if you are on the fence, the 2 is still a really powerful tablet. Sure the new display i...
