Check out the freeware stuff by u-he, Tyrell, Zebralette, ZebraCM, TripleCheese, really great synth that cover a wide range of sounds...for free. Don't forget to download patches from the user library.

Some people don't like the MPD Pads, but they can be modified. You could also wait for a Push... :)

I think they can live happily together side by side. For example the APC could use the nativeKontrol script and serve as a remote control for Live, Push is responsible for the performance domain...
I don't see any versus here if there is enough space on the table...:-)

congratulations on buying a Mac... now pay up some more... :roll: Sonimus SonEQ is an excellent EQ and free, the latest Computer Music Magazine has a Version of an EQ by eaReckon, there's a good free Compressor by Klanghelm...and so on. Don't worry, there is a lot more good freeware stuff than you ...
