Dummy clips are being triggered by scenes -- how to fix?

I have a rather large liveset with I have organized into sections, which I mark by setting up dummy clips labeled with the genre of the section. I have mapped these scenes to various MIDI keys so I can jump around my set quickly, and in Live7, this scheme worked rather nicely. In Live8, however, som...

Re: Bugfix update Live 8.0.3 is online!

Nice! Also, I'd like to thank the Abes for improving the hosting situation at ableton.com. Some might remember the not-so-distant past when downloading Live meant dealing with timeouts, no resuming, moderate to slow speeds, and lots of complaining on the forum. But, I just pulled down the 8.0.3 upda...

Re: Why do you need to choose a language to download live?

One reason: The japanese font / language file is quite big. If you choose any other language you'll not get that additional stuff. Reduces our traffic and your HD space consumption / download time. Robert Thanks for the explanation. Sorry if my original post sounded a bit snarky; it's just that I h...

Why do you need to choose a language to download live?

Seriously, what gives?

The installer is properly localized. The program itself is localized. Why on earth does one need to select a language for downloading Live itself? Shouldn't one only need to choose the OS?

Can you please try again with beta 17. We've fixed some bug that may have solved this issue.

Sorry for the late reply on this one -- yes, as of RC2, this behavior doesn't seem to occur anymore. Thanks.

[amo] Live fails to detect leading silence when auto-warping

Basically, if you drag any track longer than a minute or two into Live (a song, that is), Live can usually detect the BPM correctly, but it never figures out where to place the starting point or the first warp marker. This is a really old bug which everybody knows about and just deals with by now; i...

[4870] Small skip when using Complex Pro warp mode

I notice that for some clips, there is a slight stutter when Live hits the edge of the loop. The source file in this case is an mp3, but I don't think that should make much of a difference. The loop itself is cut cleanly, and I even made sure that the loop points hit zero crossings. With "pro&q...

Actually there have been rumors of a mini virus for years... there was even a picture of a Virus-mini-C prototype that access decided not to make which was featured in a sound-on-sound interview.

USB 1.1 was probably used so that the same circuit design form the TI could be used. That, and it would make the TI look "slow" in comparison to foolish users. The goal was probably to keep it as close to the TI hardware-wise. I use the term "foolish" because if you do the math, ...

Ableton Suite: Thanks for listening to us :)

I'm surprised that more people didn't jump on this issue right away... but I was pleased to see that the Abes are now offering the EIC, and all of the instruments in a single bundle at a pretty reasonable price. I was a bit concerned to see the announcement of 3 new synths, each originally to be sol...

Re: Ableton's policy on fixing bugs in previous versions?

Its very dangerous for my audio speakers, which I spent a lot of money on and took a long time to save for. its also very damaging to my ears which have been felt the effect when I've been running Ableton at a decent volume. Its even worse if I have headphones on at the time. The license of live re...

I have a mini now... I used to have a macbook, but sold it. The performance is roughly equal on both machines. As for portability... I'd get a macbook if you know you're going to be carrying this machine around a lot. The mini itself is small, but the power adapter brick is rather large; perhaps abo...

Re: Ableton on Apple vs PC

Hi All, Probably a stupid question but couldn't find the answer even after searching though the forum. Yes, your suspicions are correct; the topic has been covered here extensively. However, since phpBB's search function sucks humongous cock, you wouldn't know it, so we can't blame you for asking a...

I don't think i've ever seen a usb hub with more than 7 or 8 ports, actually. But why not simply plug one hub into another? Daisy-chaining hubs is generally not a great idea, especially if you have any devices which need to transmit a lot of data (hard drives, sound interfaces, etc.). I can't imagi...

Youll need 3 as chances are 2 will spontaneously fail at the same time. Its funny until it happens to you! +1 to this. A lot of people might consider this rather silly, but it's actually quite possible. If something tragic were to happen while performing a backup, then you can easily loose both cop...
