obviously, there are more factors than just OS & Live 8, but i've got a super stable system running over here at the studio.

at that price point, or anywhere near it, there really isn't anything. maybe spend a couple hundred on a nice set of beyerdynamic headphones instead.

absolutely! think of it 3D. placing things not only in the stereo field left to right, but also front to back. many mixes these days are just a flat wall left to right and have not depth.

which is the elitism of looking down on folks for using sounds and techniques I.e wobble is just a anxious tangent away from making music. With the right inspiration I believe someone could make a moving piece of music out of nothing but presets and cliches and another could make a track out of fie...

i layer snares all the time, can make a massive difference when used in the right places in a song. its all about eq and placing them at different spots front to back in the mix. as always, experiment!
