I'm trying to achieve a realistic bass guitar sound using samples. For one I want the bass to sound like a real bass guitar but also to have a nice smooth rounded feel. I currently use Trilogy, which is great but I think with some extra processing it could make into a nicer sound. Here's a track wit...

Re: Rounding out a bass guitar track
Any one got any tips for rounding out a bass guitar sound. I still want the sound resembling a bass guitar and to be really smooth also, not to be gritty in the slightest. I know of compression and adding a sine wave an octave lower. What else can be done to make it really full, round and great sou...

Dithering
Just wondering peoples thoughts on Live 7's dither options. Do you use Live 7 to dither your productions or another program? Anyone tested the quality of Live 7's dithering in relation to other programs?

Summing to mono.
When you want to sum you files to mono in Live what's the best way to go about it? Do you simply throw the utility device on the various channels you want summed and then bounce the whole mix out? I wonder if there is any loss of quality using utility this way. Or do you render each track one by one...

I have 2 gig of ram. For the most part it is rock solid, but perhaps on some projects it's occasionally a bit jittery. It's strange, yesterday I was working a project with less tracks and devices than today and I was getting the occasional jitter, but today it seems perfect. Perhaps I should just ac...

Hmmm.... I heard some of sunlights other stuff and each song sounds a little different in terms which category they fall into. They seem to be a bit of fusion, some have dub elements some are like downtempo nu jazz, some are a little soulish and some seem chillout a al cafe del mar style. Couldn't r...

How does your computers RAM effect Live's performance?
My understanding was the more RAM allows to have a larger amount of programs running at the same time or for the case of ableton more VSTs. What about devices in Ableton? Recently I've been noticing Live struggle a bit when it is only showing about 10 - 15% cpu usage, whilst only having perhaps one ...

Can this be done?
I'd like to create a template mapping macro set for an instance sampler, with various parameters mapped. Then 'slice to new midi track' a beat or other audio source into a sampler. Now I want to get these newly sliced samples into my template macro version of sampler. Is there a way of doing this qu...
