Re: playback within long midi note
It's called 'chase events' and Live has never had it. Many other DAW software offers it as an option. Even Cubase on the Atari used to have it. So it's a little annoying that the Abes haven't added it even though it has been requested several times. The way I get around it is to freeze the track and...

Re: Problem with release on pad sounds
Yep, you're right. Legato simply replaces the previous envelope with a new one if you play the same note - Roland Juno style. With legato off, the envelope resets from zero if you play the same note. While with it on, it starts the new envelope where the last one left off. Not too sure what to sugge...

Re: Problem with release on pad sounds
It's in the envelope sections for the amp and filter separately. It's called legato.cohamill wrote:Unfortunately, in Analog I can't find the same kind of Retrig function for polyphony as I did in Operator. The manual makes no mention of it. Where can I find it?

Re: Workarounds to Ableton's pitch bend reset problem not workin
Midi CCs are only sent when there is a change detected. So just putting one zero in a clip probably won't do anything. So you need to put something a little more complex. Try putting at the start of the clip a new point at zero, then 1/64 later put another at just over zero, even 1 might work. Then ...

I agree. The phaser and flanger are really quite disappointing. Shame really.TomViolenz wrote:But Reverb, Amp, Phaser, Flanger?! No way!
I quite like the reverb. It does that late 80s Yamaha reverb sound quite nicely. Less useful for other stuff though, and these days I prefer Valhalla.

Re: Does anyone actually use Abletons built in instruments?
Sampler is brilliant. It's one of the reasons I still use Live. Operator is rather useful too - for pure FM stuff I prefer FM8 but Operator does that draw your own waveform thing which is great. Analog is just horrible. It just annoys me every time I see it in the side bar of Live. Never was a plugi...

Re: 9.1.2 is up, who's using it?
Loaded 9.1.2 last night. All appears to be as it was with 9.1.1. Not overly impressed by the new auto text colour changes. The texts stay in their new chosen colour even when the clip is de-activated - which looks well weird. I did have one crash last night when I removed a memory stick (which Windo...

Re: PC USERS: What DAW are you using in addition to Live?
Studio One. And it looks as if I'll be using it a lot more because Live has become way too crashy of late.

Yep, crashes here too. I have to switch off the PC to continue. The screen just freezes, and the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. Totally random - it even happens when Live isn't actualy doing anything and I'm out of the room. Win 7 SP1 64 bit Home premium running 32 bit Live. My soundcard is M-...

Re: DRUM RACK VS INDIVIDUAL AUDIO SAMPLES
I do one of two of two things and neither of them are drum racks. I still prefer to use Impulse for most of my basic patterns. And then augment this with individual tracks with a Simpler in each.

Re: Live 9.2 wish list (I know this soon?)
Step sequencing to trigger next note automatically +1 for that. The current method is bizarre. I'll add: 1. midi CC automation in arrange window, so CCs can be treated like VST automation. 2. Proper curves for automation. 3. To allow overlapping clips in a single track in the arrange window. Overla...
