loaded up a new plugin this morning, and just dragging the window launched my CPU meter up to over 4,000%. it did it again the next time I moved it, but after that, it was fine. weird. that’s been the only time I’ve actually encountered dropouts using 11.

...is there a way of insisting that ableton takes the NVIDIA GPU rather than the intel one? I am worried about this too... if you have the Nvidia GPU activity icon in your taskbar (right side—near network status, time and date, etc. icons—you can click to see if Ableton is listed when it’s running....

switch to Reason. it’s got a nice splash page, and a whole bunch of better things to complain about.

As long as they're can send MIDI clock (and most can), it should work like that.

You could just sync Live to midi clock coming from that hardware device, we've been able to do this since Live 1.

would that still work if you're playing your hardware device free-running (i.e. not to a click, or specified tempo)?

I don't know how to set up the routing since I've only been using Live for about 2 weeks now, but, could you route the audio output of your midi track to an audio track and use that as the source?
