Re: DNX1700 vs Xone 92 Debate w/ Ableton

I mean id like the all-in-one but then i was told the 92 is better with ableton...true? Also...what are my options using a mixer without cdj's? 92 is like a tank but it is all analog (uh, with very limited midi control). to use it with live you need audio interface and midi controller and you can u...

Re: DNX1700 vs Xone 92 Debate w/ Ableton

Also...people have said new models are being released soon...should i sit on my money and wait? If you are looking for just a mixer it will be hard to find better one than 92 (and you need audio interface to feed its 4 channels from live) x1700 is mixer+usb audio interface+midi controler+2*fx in on...

different patches within one midi column

i'm looking for posibility to use different patches within one midi track for built-in live instrumens. i have found clyphx, but snapshots only saves manual knob changes - loading new patch between snapshots makes previous snaps unusable. midi clips allows that but only for external synths (bank/sub...

Re: MPD32 vs APC40

i meant that there should be no difference between pads. akai says: The MPD18 is built around the pads of the industry-standard MPC and contains some of the same technology that gives tracks made with the MPC an unmistakably human feel. by technology they mean probably swing feature. never tried mpc...

Re: MPD32 vs APC40

if you can't choose between those two, get apc40 (for time travels) and mpd18, which is mpd32 smaller/cheaper brother (for big pads).

Re: How 2 get more Program MEMORY from Kaoss Pad by MIDI message

i don't remeber which way i tested but kp3 for sure transmits or receives program change messages. so if it worked one way, it should work two ways (documentation shows that it sends/and transmists program changes).

Re: Live Intro limitations

For the limit of effects, I've decided to resample some bits of my track and delete the original which had the effects. Do you think this is a good way to go when you're just starting out and trying this and that without knowing what you're doing? The reduced number of native instruments (only simp...

Re: Replicating Analog Oscillator Drift & Temperature Change

that is not about oscillators drift and not about live, but there are some hints how to sound "more analog" in digital environment (noise, reso+cutoff combos, feedback, distortion, cascading filters etc.). try also built-in "tube", saturation and "analog warmth" effects...

Re: Is there anything in ableton that can do this?

haha thanks for the replies. I'm assuming there's not one, I'm just trying to take 2-4 bar sampled drum breaks and make them a lot more interesting. So far i've discovered Beat Repeat, which is kinda cool, i'm looking for some like granular stretching. try supatrigga, livecut, instajungle (all are ...

Re: how to sync kp3 to ableton

you can use usb or midi ports. by default clock is unfiltered.

also make appropriate changes in midi prefs in live (midi/sync -> sync) depending on which device is clock source (kp3 or live)
