Windows?
Some things will get screwed, I remember some plugs which cannot be removed without being reinstalled (e.g. Reverberate asks for the IR's if the folder is moved etc.)
I guess one way would be creating soft links to the plugs and then moving those links.

Re: unison and polyphony
2 questions is unison and voices the same thing? also, what is the point of having polyphony and monophonic settings, like if you only wanted one note playing at one time just play one note at a time. or is there something i'm missing. :o I was confused a bit myself to understand the concept of a m...

Like with their stupid refill format - you may buy it, but you cannot use it outside Reason.
Anyway, whatever they do, Reason times are over soon.

Re: reason essentials sale
Well the R6 demo actually is fully functional, you can even save your work (but of course not open it until you purchase).
For demos I often use Sandboxie or a virtual machine (PC).

Re: what city to start a music career?
ok, cool! I was just wondering about all those artists that go over there and how do they survive ha but would berlin be the right place to go if your trying to start a career as a dj/producer? In Berlin you can live a quite nice life with not much money in your pocket. ;) Good for a pennyless musi...

Look for DbPoweramp also, it's free, gives nice options for batch converting with filters etc.

Re: Groove 3 and other online courses
Sonic Academy has a large amount of Ableton Live videos, they are covering a lot of genres and techniques, best beginner stuff out there. MacPro and Groove3 are quite good, but in general they do not cover special genres (of course Groove3 had to make a How-to-make-Dubstep video though, I guess ever...

Re: Sylenth 1 vst
Last I checked it takes milliseconds to load a patch in Sylenth1.. Is it really a problem to just load the patch, preview it on your keys, then switch to the next one? Sounds like more work the way you suggested (loading a patch, then having to accept it vs loading a patch, load next patch, etc..) ...

Re: Sylenth 1 vst
Use the latest version, 2.2. Load a bank. With Sylenth in focus, step through the presets with cursor up/down, switch bank number (1-4) by cursor left/right. Couldn't e any easier. You even do not have to press enter for selecting (unlike the Ableton hot switch function which is very tiring when ste...

Re: simplest way to create a stereo spread effect?
+1 for the simple delay. One thing to be aware of though that this stereo trick doesn't mono at all well, you may get a severe drop in volume of the effected part, and/or unpleasant comb filtering. It's only an issue if your track's played on and old TV, or a mono PA system, or AM radio. I found ou...

I use Dropbox, not only for projects but also for my presets, templates, library add-ons etc. - everything is automatically in sync on two machines.

Re: Please explain clips to a Neanderthall!
To me, the arrange is just like arrange in any other DAW, and the session window is like the mixer in Logic or Cubase, but with the added feature of the clips at the top. To answer your question, no i don't really understand the difference between how clips work in Session vs. how they work in Arra...
