Re: big data flow from midi device // slow handling ??
I've had similar problems....add a "speedlim 20 @defer 1" before the live.object "set value $1" input and see if your performance improves. Mine did I there are going to be some speed limitations with which we'll have to live with when calling API objects.

Re: live.path complains but works!
Don't think so. The syntax message is triggered by live.path. You can disconnect live.path's output to live.object and still hear it complain when you call that path from it. The id derived from the call, however, is correct.

Launchpad User Mode 2 Nonsense
I'm trying to understand why Live is reserving MIDI Input from User Mode 2 for its own purposes. Isn't it supposed to be a "User Mode"? User Mode 1 works fine, but of course the mapping of buttons to MIDI Notes is completely nonsensical in this mode if one's intention is to implement a gri...

Re: Hmmm, what about SC, etc .... ?
You can easily build a sidechain plugin from within SonicBirth. Its free, open source, and pretty easy to use. I've been using this method for 6 months or more, and it works extremely well, requiring little overhead. It allows you to insert a plugin on a device rack and route audio to it from the ou...
