Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic

I like Live for sure, but it's strengths are also it's weaknesses. It show you a nice loop based workflow and you can instantly see how this helps you in writing etc. but if you go a less loop based route and use 30-40 tracks etc. then the workflow isn't so great. 30-200 tracks is not an issue at a...

A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic

This is not a scientific observation or anything, but over the past year or two, it seems a lot of pros who used to use Logic for their productions are now using Ableton. If you look at the FutureMusic and ComputerMusic in studio videos, you'll notice the trend.

Anyway, the end.

Songwriting in Ableton 9

Hello all, I used to be a Live owner a couple years ago, but moved to other DAWs due to a couple of issues. Ableton Live 9 looks nice and I wanted to see if you all had some thoughts on the issues that I ran across the first time. Much appreciated! This has mainly to do with session view since that ...

Re: Novation's Launchkey Keyboard

Interestingly no mention of Automap, only "InControl", whatever that is. Wonder if they're moving away from AutoMap?

Vengeance plugins don't show up in Ableton?

Wondering if anybody has this problem - my Vengeance plugins (Metrum and Sidechain) are not showing up in the plugin list in Ableton (32-bit). They show up fine in other hosts.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Does Maschine have a point if you've already got Suite 8?

I have a Mikro - despite the sale, I think I"m sticking with the Mikro, but either one I'd recommend. I have a custom template for the Mikro which allows control of Maschine and then I can switch and have full control of Live, including drum racks. Maschine has some great custom templates avail...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

Sounds like a pretty blatant copy. Wonder where the innovation will be. The features they've added should be able to be added to Live without much effort IMO, while Bitwig doesn't have Live's 10 years of development and bug testing behind it. As the review said, stuff in Bitwig is still fairly unpol...

Re: Live 8 + Launchpad + LPC vs. Maschine Mikro

As an update to this, spent some time creating a Mikro template using Selected Track Control, which has allowed me the best of both worlds - Ableton and Maschine. I can't have a clip launch matrix like on the Launchpad, but I don't use Live 8 for DJing or playing Live, so I don't particularly need t...

Yes, it is insanely useful and amazing in S1, especially for vocal mixing.

no, it hasn't...
http://www.bitwig.com - it says it right on their homepage. They are no longer taking beta applicants either.

Re: Machine - worth it? (yawn...)

I am thinking about this very thing these days being an existing Maschine Mikro user and a new Live user. I just got a Launchpad and nativeKontrol's LPC, and to be honest, I'm struggling to find a use for Maschine now...LPC lets you do so much with the Launchpad (step sequencing, all recording funct...
