Re: Turntable Repair in the San Francisco Bay Area?
If you can't find anybody independent that specializes in repairs on dj equipment; a visit to guitar center could help. Look up any music equipment shops in SF; I'm sure they've got leads...and some have go to do repair.
Good luck!

Re: Teenage Engineering PO Series
Are you supposed to break off the display hole? I think I couldn’t bring myself to do it on purpose. And then again it looks incredibly fragile. Fuck. I believe it is supposed to be broken off if you buy the silicone casing for it. Perhaps it serves a practical function being suspended on the wall ...

Re: Teenage Engineering PO Series
recieved my PO-12 last week. Impressive little thing and the Parameter Locks are really great to get some cool variations on the patterns. I have synced it from the Volca-Beats Sync-Out which is midi synced to live. Allready sampled a few really cool loops from the PO-12 and the Bassdrum is really ...

Anyone else at work?
I work at an independent bookseller in Chicago that deals in rare asian titles. As you can all probably imagine, business isn't too upbeat at any time of year.
Anyone else working a dreaded job that would rather be at home playing with synths? What do you all do to pass the time?

Re: I have Ableton Push and don't know anything about music
One last tip, no matter what you do, or how you sound starting off, it is important to always make yourself productive. It's not even as hard as it sounds. Set a light, but mandatory workload just so you can hear yourself outside of the studio. Something like: Make sure you put together and render ...

Re: I have Ableton Push and don't know anything about music
I was in the same boat as you a few years ago. When the Ableton push dropped, I saw all the cool videos and thought to myself "damn, I think I could do this" so I copped it without much second thought. Only two years later; between work and graduating college, do I feel I understand enough...
