XP home, most definitely. XP pro not necesasary

2000 is next best but the computers in my studio at work have 2000 on them and find them not as stable as my machines at home, and then XP home seems to be more stable than Pro as I have both.

Oh yeah, and if you use the L1 ultramaximiser the threshhold always starts at -30 and maximises the fuck out of it!
