Re: Learn synthesis or use samples?
Analog is a really simple synth that follows the basic subtractive synthesis methodology, so I'd recommend that. Agreed with Tarekith, but fortunately/unfortunately Analog has a few features that can make it's routing very complex. I'd recommend when working just use 1 oscillator, 1 filter, and 1 a...

Re: terrible voice
simple answer no. that's not really what vocoders are used for. I wish I could give you a more detailed answer but i myself haven't really looked into the details of how a vocoder works. pretty much I always saw it as using whatever audio you feed through it as an envelope for a synth or noise. ther...

I actually don't use any sample libraries for the precise reason you said. I just prefer to sample my own sounds or synthesize them.

Re: Playing live with Ableton?
This isn't the only way to play live though. I do a lot of live playing keyboards, mixing tracks and messing around with effects. The challenge is to find a method that allows the live performance to be as expressive as an instrumental performance without exceeding your computer or your mind/body's...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
This is not a solid test, if you are even 0.01 ms off for starting the tracks together, the gap (0.01ms) will start to grow exponentially through time and eventually it'll be large enough for you to hear.tw1nstates wrote:

Re: Music theory is easier than learnig to sing....
Even babies can sing.. anyone can sing, even if it doesn't sound pleasant, remember it's not the audio quality that matters here, it's the frequency that you're producing with your voice. And yes as others have said, you CANNOT learn "music theory" in a couple hours. If you're telling me k...

Re: Any guitar players out there?
don't get a TS9 they're very overpriced and don't even sound that great. Tubescreamer clones are a dime a dozen and almost all of them are better than the ibanez ones. what's your budget?

easy way, use the outputs from your audio interface and stick it into the inputs (i.e. make a loop) then hit record.

Re: ONE Live set - Multiple arrangments
why not just "save as" for every session? Most commercial studios that use pro tools do this. so there will be multiple versions of the same song as the production grows. i.e. 1.1 scracth 1.2 drums 1.3 bass 1.3.1 bass edits 1.4 guitars 1.4.1 guitars doubles 1.5 vocals etc, etc, etc. this i...

for the price and general functionality it's hard to beat the apc40. but if you have something more specific you'd like to do another midi controller could be a better solution

Re: [Dubstep] Looking for a hug
for a track with a lot of 'dynamic range' I dont feel the dynamics that much. When the drop comes in I want to feel the kick and bass just punch me in the face. Otherwise I thought it was pretty well done.
