I also use an Akai LPK25. Your best bet is to use some device that can send configurable MIDI CC messages. I ended up cutting the pads off a Korg Nanopad and using its XY touch pad next to my LPK25 for pitch and mod.

Does that mean I would not be able to uninstall Suite 8 after installing Live 9? Of course you would. You can upgrade to Live 9 Standard and retain your current Suite 8 components.
