Re: if live 9 is not 64-bit...

I'm surprised you'd say that. You haven't noticed the number of threads debating the surround issue in Live? Right, of course all Live users only ever play in electronic dance music clubs with mono systems :x And of course surround sound only ever occurs in movie theatres. Oops my bad  ...

Re: if live 9 is not 64-bit...

Bring us surround panning (especially for LIVE performance) :!: :?: As a lot of venues run a mono sound system how is this important? Are you performing background music for corporate PowerPoint presentations at movie theaters? I'm surprised you'd say that. You haven't noticed the number of threads...

Re: if live 9 is not 64-bit...

I couldn't care less about session automation (and I use Live live just as much as in my studio)

Bring us surround panning (especially for LIVE performance) :!:

edit: And lack of 64-bit is not a deal breaker for me.

Re: Fx/mastering racks on MASTER CHANNEL

Sorry, I didn't read the question fully  Dummy clips may do it, like you said, but (@ grandpa) why would you want to do this? If you are mastering in Live, just put your mastering chain on the master channel and automate the chain selector in arrangement view. I guess I've just never heard of ...

Re: Fx/mastering racks on MASTER CHANNEL

Sure, you can. You can switch between devices in the master channel using the chain selector mapped to a midi controller just like any other audio or midi channel.

Re: Some questions before switching from RC-50 to Live 8/Laptop

Hey mojofunk: Interesting ideas  But it seems you could do the same with returns. In another thread, I explained how to do it with returns by properly setting up Looper's monitoring parameters to prevent volume problems and you can also put effects after the Loopers in the return tracks like t...

Re: Using multiple loopers (i.e. ESSENTIAL CONFIGURATION post)

1. Put your Loopers each on a return track

2. Set the Input ->Output (bottom right) of each Looper to "Never"

3. Turn up all the sends on your Mic track.

Done :)

Re: ableton looper: workarounds for no acces to layers problem?

Looper is the device to go to for setting Live's tempo via your own musical input. No other native device in any DAW will do this that I know of (I'd love to be wrong about this). It's really meant for performative use (mostly with multiple instances of it) and not for comping keepable takes for you...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

Another question for Maschine heads:

How does it do with handling odd meters (5/8, 7/8, 11/8, etc)?

I suppose hosting it in Live, it might not matter much, since with Live you can change time signature via scene selection. I'm just curious how Maschine approaches this (or not) on its own.

Re: Holy Sh*t - Maschine update 1.6 brings VST/AU hosting !

Question, though: Can you record your loops on Maschine without a click? That is, set the master tempo like Looper can? This would be the deal breaker for me. No, you can't. Oh, that's really too bad. Well, it's not a total deal breaker, since I could host it in Live, and Live + Looper CAN do this....

Re: Holy Sh*t - Maschine update 1.6 brings VST/AU hosting !

I understand that there is a difference in workflow and hardware integration between MASCHINE and LIVE. Besides workflow and hardware integration, what can MASCHINE do that LIVE cannot? Record parameter automation in loops, real-time. Undo your recorded loops. Or delete parts of your recorded loops...

Re: Yellow Tools christmas break

Download Independence Free and see if you like its interface and workflow first (if you haven't already done so).

99 Euro for the Independence Pro suite is a really good deal, I think.

Re: Expressive midi controller percussive pad like the Wavedrum?

Thanks guys. The Soundplane looks intriguing, but I would obviously have to wait for that.

I think I'm going to take the plunge and look deeper into Eowave's sensor systems. If anyone has any experience working with sensors, I'd love the advice.
