Re: Villalobos hating on Ableton

Okay, fine. Apologies for not realising this forum was just as knee deep in (dub) techno elitists as those over at Discogs. I'll not bother in future because I'm already well aware how stubbornly elitist people like you are.

Re: Villalobos hating on Ableton

i question your musical knowledege and expertise You actually enjoy listening to albums consisting entirely of 4/4 kicks, clicks and production tricks? Fair enough, but I fall asleep after 20 seconds of that shit. 90% of electronic music producers can't write melodies worth a damn anyway... Villalo...

Re: Villalobos hating on Ableton

rearranging 18 year old classic technotracks brought techno any further???? sorry.. I preffer the originals... Most people i know do. Yes, made it listenable to people that weren't minimal elitist wankjobs and DJs. Sorry if that offends you, but techno is full of that kind of mentality. Scion made ...

Re: Features you don't want to see in Live 9

Activation protection. I'm sick of it.

I'm going to have to use another unlock on my Win7 laptop because I forgot to put Live 7.0.16 in compatibility mode.

Frustrating doesn't begin to cover it.

Re: Villalobos hating on Ableton

this guy is one of the people who has really pushed the frontiers of electronic music in the last few years. alchahofa, the au harem d'archimedes, achso, countless remixes. As if there weren't enough reasons to hate on techno for its repetition (and this is a genre I love), Villalobos only gives us...

Re: which flavour of Windows 7?

If I'm not mistaken - please correct if so - I believe that the Home Premium version of 7 has an arbitrary 16GB RAM limit (gotta love MS). Professional and Ultimate editions up that to a huge amount that none of us will probably reach any time soon, but keep that in mind. Currently running Win7 RC 6...

Re: Windows 7 compatibility information

I think it is worth mentioning that, currently, Live 7.0.16 must be run under Vista Service Pack 1 (possibly also 2?) compatibility to avoid GUI redraw issues. You will have to re-activate it, if you have already done so without running it in compatibility mode. Otherwise, 7.0.16 has been very solid...

Re: new DAW shootout analysis

One thing I will agree on:

Ableton's prices are more expensive than they should be.

It's only my familiarity and the routing/rack possibilities that keep me on Live. Fruity Loops step sequencing is piquing my interest, having used an ESX1 for a while now...

Re: Bugfix update 8.0.5 available

ok, it forced me to reinstall all those live packs and it froze on me. Then i restarted the system and it wouldn't complete the livepack updates. What should i do in terms of repair. Other than that this software works great on windows 7 x64 without the redraw problems like 8.0.4 so far....knocks o...

Re: Ableton Live 7 "lagging" on Windows 7

1. Right click the desktop/start menu icon and go to Properties 2. Click the Compatibility tab and look for the Compatibility Mode section 3. Check the box and select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) 4. Hit OK ;) This supposedly works. However it also resets the copy protection , and requires you to ...

Re: Separation At Aquilis - have some psychedelic dub techno!

Thanks guys, and thanks for the insight Smutek. :) Melodic dub trance then? (It's not obvious, no, but I'm a sucker for piling on lots of filters on sounds at once, as well as using automated delay... big dub influence) I don't know what to call it, but it's what I make. :|
