Re: Live Suite Collection question

till now, you always got the updates for the instruments you own for free. You have to pay for new ones, but there will be an upgrade path from suite 8 to (full) suite 9.

Re: Clicks and pops driving me to mental breakdown.

if it works ok with another card - seems like it has to do with your soundcard. Have you tried it with another Computer? Is there a chance that you use XP under Bootcamp? I had problems there with my firepod and solved them with disabling wifi and (most important) the keyboard driver (kbmgr.exe or s...

Re: Quick Envelope Question

pepezabala is right. Read about automation and about clip envelopes in the manual, it s a bit tricky to get your head around how these two work together, but here is one of the most powerful aspects of Live. Want to see something cool with clip envelopes? http://vimeo.com/5962875 8O - :o - :) - :D

Re: DCAM Synth Squad Vs NI Massive

I don t know the DCAM ones, but Sylenth and Massive sound VERY good IMHO. Sylenth is pretty oldschool analog like and easy to learn, Massive sounds more modern, and is more complex, but has a really nice interface and is also good to learn. In discussions about the best Synth, Zebra is always mentio...

Re: Recommend me a nice LCD monitor for PC

IMHO, if it is for making music, you 1. can get away with the cheapest monitor you can find in your size, and 2. the bigger the better.
So don t think about 19, look for at least 22, better 24.

If you are doing anything with graphics or photo or if you are a serious gamer - very different story.

Re: Rendering: this sounded nice in Live!

With out being able to listen to your Song right now: Dithering is ONLY needed/a good thing when reducing the Bitrate (24 to 16 bit for a cd for example) Dithering should under all circumstances only be applied ONCE (or you will degrade your sound) and dithering has to be the VERY LAST step in your ...

Re: Rumoured Apple Tablet

Underpowered as a standalone device for sure, if it will come i would rather expect sort of a super-iPhone/iPod Touch, but i could be very interesting as a controll surface and it could be a Lemur killer.

Re: inexplicable delays

I think from what you describe, that it could be related to Harddisk or optical drive Access. It only happens when the browser is open, that s a sign for it. Even the Windows Explorer freezes when you put a cd or dvd in your drive until it finds the Disc. So it could have to do with your HDDs - coul...

Re: OT: Batterylife of my Macbook Pro

Fuckers! As i m over the guarantee period for over 100 days, they won t give me a new battery. That would be just hard but ok, but what gets onto my nerves is, that they said that this is not a normal behaviour and so on. I also mentioned the 138 cycles and that i calibrated my battery like it is su...
