The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has a known clipping problem with the instrument inputs every unit out there has this problem. The only fix is to use a D.I. box or sell it for something else. I traded mine in for Saffire pro 14 Im not very happy with this interface either mainly because its firewire.......
