Re: Need assistance with headphones

I have the 80ohm model and they do sound great through my Focusrite; fairly neutral and not at all fatiguing. They need a boost - my Mac's headphone port can't power them enough but once they're driven they're a solid headphone for the price.

Re: Cannot Record External Synth

Could you post a screenshot of your Ableton set-up? That may help someone to spot what's wrong.

Re: Live laptop setup with absolute minimum latency?

From my experience the majority of our latency comes from the roundtrip through the interface (about 6.5ms each way with our Clarett+). Processing MIDI and going through native plugins in a MacBook M1 seems to add about 3ms. So in total we get about 16ms of latency, equivalent to being about 6m away...

Re: Noise coming from USB devices?

Just an idea: are there any plug-ins on a track that gets its MIDI from the Launchpad? Virtual instruments like a B3 emulation often have a residual hum on them to mimic the real instrument. Or something that adds a lot of distortion to a signal, like a Decapitator?

Re: Tempo changing to default for no reason

It’s quite often due to there being some tempo automation in the set. In arrangement view, press A and on the Master track select Tempo. If there’s any automation just delete it and you should be fine.

Re: Midi Controller with mini displays

I have an original stream deck and it works well so the streamdeck+ caught my eye too as being really flexible if it could handle midi, but i couldn't find out any more info on it. If it can then the only downside is the USB port comes out the back so it has to be at that angle. I say buy buy buy an...

Re: Easy way to remap drum sounds

Can you change the octave on the controller to match the drum rack? Or put a Pitch midi effect before the rack and use that to change the midi notes.

Re: Use the Arturia Analog Lab Sounds in Ableton?

Hi Jonas, in Ableton create a midi track. Then in the browser select Plug-ins, click on the AU or VST3 arrow, click on the Arturia arrow and double-click Analog Lab. This will load Analog Lab onto your midi track. Select your keyboard as the input (or leave as "All inputs") and you should ...

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but in Preferences > Plug Ins there's an option to have multiple plug in windows open.

Re: SIMPLE WAY TO PAN DIFERENT MIDI SOUNDS FROM ONE CLIP

I'm not sure if this applies to your situation but if you're using a drum rack you can set up return chains within the rack and route the individual drums to the return chains. Then you can pan the return chains however you want.

Re: setting control surface to only control armed channel

There may also be a way within Ableton or using Max for Live but you can definitely do it with ClyphX Pro, for example having 8 knobs on a controller and assigning them to control 8 macros on whichever track is selected.

Re: Changing instrument racks / drumracks between songs on the same Live Set

Hi, yes you can do this by combining a few different techniques: set up a chain for each patch, give each chain a separate value (say 1 for first patch, 2 for second and so on) and map the on/off of each instrument within the patch to that chain number. This means instruments/devices will only be on...

Re: How to avoid feedback when having heavy vocal effects during a live performance?

Exactly what they said. And also worth checking the type of microphone you're using - go for a dynamic mic like a Shure SM58 which needs you to be close to it rather than a condenser mic which is much more sensitive to room sounds. Condensers are great for studios but not live. Also, keep the gain a...

I've noticed the same, I assumed I'd left my finger too close to the trackpad and it was retriggering the start point.

Re: Perfect Computer for Ableton Live

Hi Gustav, we use a MacBook Pro M1 with 16Gb RAM for our live band. This handles four vocals, bass, backing tracks, four drum triggers, two MIDI controllers, DMX lights, drum racks, dozens of effects (Fabfilter gates, compressors, EQs, reverbs, delays, saturation, plus some Plugin Alliance compresso...
