Which samples do you trigger when you are already using the top row knobs for triggering clips?

I don't know how, but I find SX sounds better when mixing/mastering tracks as Live. Especially on higher levels (more to 0 dBFs) it looks Live has a 'build in compressor' or so.

With one channel you probe the MIDI input of Live (you have to ground one of the MIDI wiress to see something, MIDI is floating otherwise). The other channel you connect to the audio output of your sound card....

DJ with Live?

My 2cents: I don't see playing out cells from Live as DJing but more as "Live Remixing" or "Live Rearanging" a song.

IMHO both are an artform in it's own right.

"i messed around with the Asio4All driver a bit more and eventually got it to 3ms output latency"

Did you measure this with a scope or did you believe what the control panel was telling you :)

Low Latency Cards

There is no such thing as a low-latency USB card. The protocol overhead inside the OS (e.g. the recyling of the IRP/URB's in XP) and EHCI host controller interface results in at least 4 msec latency. With an ASIO buffer size of 2 ms (and two buffers) it will lead to 8 msec output latency at least. Y...

Audio Beat Extractor/ Audio to Midi Clock

It would be awsome if the Abletons could build in an option to sync Live to an incoming audio signal, like as if using a Redsound Micro Sync and midi clock. Red Sound is not making these anymore unfortunatly :( so the way to go is to integrate it in Live. Great for DJ's!

Upgrade

I did upgrade from Delta Live to the full Live 4 version. It's a good deal!

Thanks for the info Khaled,

Could there be some form of compression in the master output? Would be great to be able to switch it to 'bit perfect'....
I think I'll have to stay with SX and rewire Live to it till Live 5 is out :)

Sound Quality Live 4 vs. SX

Hi, Did anyone run any comparisons of the sound quality of Live 4 compared to SX? (of coarse with non-warped waves) Do the VSTi's and plugins sound as good? I'm planning to move from SX to Live for producing and this is about the only thing that I'm not sure about. I assume Live uses floats internal...
