in theory all MAC are the same... component wise... there are a trillion one windows configurations...

lets say ableton anounced ableton live 9 tomorrow... but it did not work on your machine... or one of you vsts worked in live 8 but not in live 9... would you rather wait to help insure all the testing has been done... or how about ableton live 9 going MAC only... then they would have to only worry ...

it is best that ableton take their time with live 9... just imagine with live 9 having to deal with 2.5 years of dealing with bugs...

i hate to be self-centered... but... just make live 9 64-bit and works with east/west's play, kontakt 4/5, specstrasonic suite... and i will be a happy camper...

to be honest... you cant test drive omnisphere in one sitting... or a few hours... it may takes months/years to understand the power of omnisphere....

That depends on what you count as 'unstable'. I dont count 100% predictable crashes due to out of memory as being unstable (various other comments come to mind instead ;)) as unstable to me implied unpredictable etc, however if you just see a crash and dont realise its due to OOM, the Im sure jbrid...

got jbridge yesterday... i think ableton live 8 is more stable using jbridge (using 64-bit vsti)...

is it possible?

i find ableton's eq, compressor and reverb (chained) has my drums hitting pretty hard... i vsti(s) i use are stylus rmx, battery 3, steve slate drums...

no, it should remain music software. by definition... what is music software? if ableton divided the functions across multiple products... wouldn't they "all" still be music software? i feel ableton live currently is serving too many masters... with that being said... all the different fu...

lets face it... ableton live is bloated... any way you want to cut it... they should divide the product up into multiply products... i know... that would be a headache to maintain... but the current route is not working either... i know ableton live 1 was not designed for the way i use it (midi/sess...
