Re: Future of Music/Ableton : innovation vs better beat-making
What do you feel is missing in Live that stops you from making this sort of music with it? 1) the real-time connection between the acoustic and the electronic realms. Recording audio into session view is great, but there's no good way to expressively playback live-recorded audio, much less simply o...

Re: Something New on the Horizon?
Re the picture: This is really disappointing! I'm not saying it's useless to handle audio clips on Push. Far from it! But if this is the only change after, what, 3 years?! It's just embarrasing. One could argue that this should have been Push all along. All this will do is for very little benefit, t...

Re: Using clips commercially "as they are"
I think it's the same for all commercial loop collections. They should be altered enough so that they are not basically a re-recording of the bare loops. Which would basically make your track the loop collection. So as long as you use it to make tracks and not make an end run around them to resell t...

Re: Something New on the Horizon?
If it is something new, then I hope it will differ significantly enough from Push, that people don't replace Push, but buy this in addition. So more like Shove (Arrangement view control surface) than Push MK2. Though I would assume a big API change to be able to finally control Arrangement would be ...

Look-ahead functionality in Looper
This would be a killer feature IMO!!! I think most of the functionality is already in Looper and it would just need a new mode. Specifically the record overdub feature could be applied such that instead of continuously adding the input to the looped content, it would overwrite it. What is so cool ab...

Re: Something New on the Horizon?
I hope nothing new comes out for a while. I plan to get rid of my Push (just too limited without a Midi Editor) and I still want to get a good price.

This reads like the Capitalism/Socialism debates all over again
Let's not give the mods a reason to ban discussions on synths too

Well Midi has a resolution of 128 steps, so I would think the coarseness you lament lies there

Re: Sidechaining parameters other than volume
Thanks for the replies! I'm going to check these out and report back with what's good. So far: clyphx->macrobat->side chain rack there you go 8) I may need a little more guidance about how to use clyphX and macrobat to sidechaining a pitch parameter. (I'm actually not sure what a sidechain rack is ...
