Thank you! I've got the whole collection, but wasn't sure if they will count it in, so snagged it just in case. Recommended!

Re: Is Apple losing its way in music tech?

It's not Apple's fault that some software doesn't work on their recent OS releases. Of course it is! You don't n e e d to change OS each and every year... Just changing stuff isn't really innovation. It's just part of their Planned obsolescence and ecosystem stickiness. They have taken this a bit t...

Re: Is Apple losing its way in music tech?

It's not Apple's fault that some software doesn't work on their recent OS releases. Some companies are always and I mean always on time and some companies are always late, so obviously there is enough time for them to fix it (beta was out there for at least half a year, I even believe that much more...

Re: I want to quit.

Talent in music is 70% work and 25% confidence and the secret sauce is: to work smart. I bet you simply do it wrong or not enough and it is not for the lack of talent. What helped me was to finally gave up the chase for latest (or more "old-schoolest") and greatest piece of gear/software a...

Re: I'm done with M4L until it is unbounded from (outdated) Java

Thank you Tom and stringtapper for taking the time. We could go deep and analise particular vectors of reasonably possible attacks, but why bother? It’s literarily as simple as: “unsupported software” equals “software at highly elevated risk”. Also, it’s an annoyance, also it’s not stated up front, ...

I'm done with M4L until it is unbounded from (outdated) Java

I'm terribly disappointed. Ableton Live Suite - otherwise fantastic and progressive piece of software relies on so outdated piece of technology that is beyond reason. It's a security risk and a bloat and terribly annoying. Also, it's something that could be fixed with relative ease since Java could ...

Any more reports form people who tried 9.7 beta? What's the difference in practice? How is it for melodic playing now?

Re: MacOS Sierra Public Beta - fitst impressions with Live 9.7b

Many thanks for your report! Can you tell about Max For Live? Does it work with many devices? There's info on M4L website that Sierra should not be able to support Legacy Java, so that would prevent some m4l devices from working properly. God, I wish Max would drop that silly and harmful requirement...

It was cool for a while but despite me having a top of the line brand new MacBook Pro it was running very slow, often stuttering which obviously completely threw me out of the flow.

Re: What to do with my cash - Advice please

I would advise something like a Seaboard RISE. Regarding hardware synths which you do lack… For me it was a failed experiment - for me they are like candy - sweet but short lived pleasures. I recently scaled down to just serious MIDI controllers: Kavai VPC-1, Seaboard RISE and MPC pads, but I consta...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

How do you feel about this issue - will it get resolved ever? I mean, maybe it's just the way it is and hardware constraints won't let it get much better?

I just canceled my order (it was on stand-by for couple weeks as the store was waiting for Volca FM shipment) after reading this thread.

Re: Audio Interface and Studio Monitors / Headphones

Af course you will be able to connect (almost) any active monitors to your laptop directly - it's just a matter of a correct cable. But depending on your laptop you may get better or even way better results with a proper audio interface. I would very strongly recommend to buy one, but it's totally o...
